  • Just finished coloring my latest piece (although I actually sketched this about 5 years ago on a city bus on the way home from art school), and it’s looking pretty good. My original thought on this as I drew it was that this guy needed a big frickin’ gun. No, wait.. a HUGE frickin’ gun! The kind that would, in no way, be able to be supported by his weight alone. In fact, the gun-to-guy weight ratio balance would be off so badly that he would be lying on his back in about a second. But, this isn’t real life, and nothing even says this is an illustration of anything from our universe so maybe he’s on another planet or something. Yeah, that’s it.. Overall, I’m happy with the way this turned out. I originally didn’t plan on adding in the smoke or spark effects, but I thought it needed something more so I started playing around with smoke and that eventually led to a much larger idea: the character seems to be literally ripping apart or on the verge of exploding. Very cool. I’m working on improving my coloring speed and overall composition, so hopefully you’ll enjoy this latest addition to my illustration/print portfolio.

  • once again, the product of boredom / the background is kinda weird with the cracks, but I got frustrated with making it not busy and still look good :P

  • Taking you deeper into my forest…as you can see what was once my shoulder in the previous upload is now an ancient and sacred egg that only the forest creatures know about :) This was inspired by a very vivid dream I had.

  • Stop it! Enough is enough! Enough skirmishing and lamenting, or struggling to hold on. And, like an adolescent quieting down after a blind paroxysm, our bawls begin to collapse, we quiver once or twice, we blink back our tears and through a blanket of drenched lashes, we begin to look at the world through new eyes . When it comes to me , that time I stand mutely in front of my Palette. In Collaboration of my poem Mood Focus~

  • Done in Apophysis and finished in Photoshop A fan of color to brighten the day / Spreading the colors in bright array

  • As I made my ( transitional ) drive from my future back to my past today, I listened to the Alien sounds of the album Oxygene. / From the master himself, Jean Michel Jarre. It is a sound for Earthly ears, with a message from the cosmos, to me its about the search for a new home on another world by a race that as destroyed the one they were given. The search is long and time passes slowly, the new worlds must have the thing we as a species need “Oxygene” / So their search across space may go on for eternity, for they say ” you can never go home again”. / And even when you find that other world, it still is not “home”. So I suppose MY message is…........... ’ Think about what we as a race are doing to our home world, do we really want to have to travel the stars for all eternity, searching for something we already have?................think! I wanted to create an image of what their home world was like before its destruction. So I created this one and called it “Oxygene”

  • This is a collaboration that I have had the pleasure of completing with the incredibly talented, portrait extraordinaire Shelly Hiebert. The original photo is below. I manipulated the colour of the original portrait of Shelly’s daughter Abi. Added some linear movement and distorted the image further. I feel it gave the image a gothic, yet almost electronic or digital appeal, so I chose Beautiful People as title, as a dedication to one of Shelly’s favourite songs. I’d like to thank Shelly for allowing me this fantastic opportunity to expand my skills, portfolio and our own friendship. • This is my personal dedication to one of the best night’s out Melbourne had to offer in the late 90s – mid 00s. The night, by the same name, was held at Room680, in Hawthorn. It was the home to some of the best DJs and music at the time, and became a place of great memories for me today. The original Japanese Kanji characters were taken from a poster in a back alley in Chinatown, Melbourne. The two characters represent anarchy and chaos. Filled the background with a deep red, added a dusty, scratchy layer, then a splattered paint layer, faded both slightly. Two layers of the same broken glass on top of that. Then a bit of tweaking and contrast adjustment to get this rather vibrant, if not slightly crazy looking piece. The night itself was nothing short of crazy, busy, active and fun. Kinda gave you the energy to run out and throw yourself through a window.. but in a good way! Themed loosely around Japanese underground electronica clubs. Thanks Teriyakianarkisaki for a great few years of fun!
