I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

Pisaq, Cusco – Perú - / I met those two little girls from a little village near the ruins of Pisaq, close to Cusco. / At the beginning they were a bit shy and they didn’t seem very keen to be photographed. / But I gained their trust after chatting a little bit.. and I managed to take a few pictures of them.

Model – Meluxine These are some outtake/alternates from the same shoot as Apple Blossom Girl – I actually took LOTS of shots from that set and am having strife picking the final shots to use, and since I treat RB as an alt/outtake spot as well as a preview/never before seen/standard portfolio, I figured what the hell ;) This particular pair were shot on my late Grandfather’s Ensign Selfix 820 on god knows what film, Fuji NPS 160 I thiiiiink… or possibly Portra 400NC. I had no idea what to expect, having never put film through the damn thing before, so the fact they worked and looked delightfully dreamy was very cool. These are scanned from the 120 neg, straight off the camera – no editing aside from putting them next to each other and whacking my watermark on them. Woohoo. I found these lovely Flax at Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach…I used a few of the Florabella Fine Art Textures on this image… Little Blue Book .. Overlay mode 38% / and Allure Soft Light mode @ 65%..and then added a light blue color overlay within the Allure texture layer… Image taken with Canon EOS 5D Mark II Camera and Canon EF 100mm Macro Lens… / 1/800s / Manual Exposure / f/3.5 / ISO 100

Her older sister, Perrin, ran around behind her holding a black cloth to act as a ‘backdrop’ for me. In true 2 year old style, she decided today was the day that she would NOT smile, and as for looking at the camera… you can forget it. Keeping still was also not an option. So this is the end result of a frustrating shoot, but maybe the more interesting for it. Canon 400D, natural light, pp in photoshop CS2.

This padlock was moored to the Bridge of Triana (Seville, Andalusia) where tourists have brought the tradition to express wishes and promises attaching padlocks with messages written on the beams of the bridge. This specifically said that his dream is to return to this place that have made him grow up and dream… :) / The Bridge of Triana, a National Historic Monument, is one of the most romantic places in the world ;P / Hundreds of people, cars and horse carriages (typical of this city) cross it each day. It was designed by Eiffel drawing on the Bridge Carrousel of Paris :) The bridge is impressive (especially at night) and many people pass next to this small padlock every day without seeing it… Well, it has nothing special… is just the magic of the little things ;) Canon 400D
