You can fly if you try hard enough
This is the second batik butterfly in my collection. I’d like to dedicate this image to Marianne Venegoni, a gifted photographer, who has been very ill and is trying to find her “wings” again. Marianne, may you scale even greater heights than before your illness! You can see Marianne’s impressive portfolio at photoeyes here on Redbubble.
In my backyard.
A macro of a bumble bee collecting nectar from one of my Sarracenia. For those who don’t know, Sarracnia are carnivorous plants so she really is living dangerously collecting her nectar here.
Just a photo, without photoshop.

Birds tend to flock down to the shoals at sundown, I suppose to find some tasty morsels for dinner. Or, is it a daily ritual so they can all enjoy the view? /

A blue and pink colored hot air balloon gains altitude quickly above the Montoursville Rotary Balloon Festival. This photo was shot at the Williamsport Municipal Airport, along the Susquehanna river, in north central Pennsylvania. The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L telephoto zoom lens @ 140mm. The shutter speed was 1/350th sec at f/16. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist. 5”x7” This is a handmade card I created with Koh-I-Noor woodless colour pencils, water based ink brush pens, oil pastel and gold metallic ink on Canvas Paper. The eye of the bird is actually a very tiny glass green bead. “Use whatever talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sing the best.” / - Henry Van Dyke Collect the whole series… / You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /
