  • This was hanging on a line outside the produce shop that is located at the “Pumpkin Farm” (a name I have given to a farm along Hwy. 611 south of Easton, PA). Each year the whole front of the farm is lined with hundreds of pumpkins for sale. I will be posting a couple of shots of these in the near future. I love the variety of colors in this corn!

  • A field of corn growing in the Italian region of Friuli – a big producer of corn, but mainly for polenta rather than sweetcorn. There is a group of farm buildings in the background beyond the corn

  • A PERSPECTIVE ABOUT OLD BARNS / He said,” you couldn’t get paint that beautiful”, for a new country home he’s building down the road. Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood. / It came to me then. We’re a lot like that, you and I. / Only it’s on the inside that the beauty grows with us. / Sure we turn silver gray too… and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap. / But the Good Lord knows what He’s doing. / And as the years pass He’s busy using the hard weather of our lives, / The dry spells and the stormy seasons do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce. / And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy!

  • This wonderful little icy creek, gently flowing through this gaping canyon, spoke volumes about it’s older cousin that had raged through here to cut this canyon eons ago. The scene was there. The light was right. I composed the photograph and took it.
