  • FALL IS COMING
    by Dana Yoachum

I’m looking out my window all around / as colored leaves fall to the ground / Can it be? Is it already here? / Just didn’t seem to be so ne…

  • Leaves
    by Arkanjel

Light-catchers flutter, soaking Sun and it’s rays. / Drinking Light, clean and bright, offered during the days

Pick a subject then write a poem about it. But you can’t use the actual word of that subject in the poem, except for the title. It’s a fun mind bender.

  • The Sun Didn’t Rise
    by Carrie Sue Snelgrove

Today the sun didn’t rise / But to my surprise / There was still something to see / Like the trees / With their colorful hues / This didn’t gi…

Fall time….The sun doesn’t need to raise to enjoy life or be happy!

  • Fall In Senses
    by LDRPhoto

Rustling, half-attached, bathed in filtered amber glow, / Topaz, peridot, magenta, coral brilliance, / Vibrant washes of color, engulfing …

This was actually inspired by a photograph I had taken last fall here in Tennessee. It may lose a bit in translation without seeing the the actual photograph but if you are one who can clearly picture the beauty of fall leaves and colors it will not be lost on you. (I do intend to post the photos that inspired this poem in my photography section.)

  • fluttering folly
    by Fiona Christensen

the truth, floats, down / flutters, falls, on my eyes / I see the real you, past your lies…

truth is truly amazing. it really does set you free.. i hate lies, i wish i could stay away from them but sometimes i too fall in the web of lies and deceit. there are big lies ( i avoid those cos they just bring trouble and shit) and small lies (the ones i tell occasionally) but I prefer the truth though…but its like i said, if you have perfected you poker face (like i have), you can get away with murder. Iv gotten so good at telling lies i can even get away with it from my family and closest friends… but it does take its toll, i feel it in my shoulders, my neck, in my head, my heart and on my skin… and in the lump in my throat, my eyes though, a crystal clear, unfaltering… i hate lying… Thanks to the Dykeenies for the use of some sparkly words (gracias!) :) Featured In Young Ehtusiasts

  • Forest Fall
    by gruffalo84

I am a maverick in this land / of park rangers and tree huggers, / land-of-the-free-ers / and mother natures.

A poem about the approach of autumn

  • The Autumn Story
    by gruffalo84

In cornucopian colors, / there’s a burnt fragrance / both savagely Puritan and bold.

Another poem about autumn, this time in a form I completely made up. But I like it. A Jesstina, maybe?

  • A COUNTRY LANDSCAPE IN FALL
    by Dayonda

Beautiful blue flowing water / reflects the sun with a glow.

A two-stanza ode to a Fall landscape. Set to a snapping, fast waltz time, 6/4 music notation. / Some musical rests, or beats of silence at ends of some lines. / Poetry read in English normally stops for a breath or a beat only at the ends of punctuated (.,:;!?) lines. This one is “normal” for reading purposes.

One Line Fall , trees lose their leaves and sleep; all those colors are their dreams.

One Line Fall , trees lose their leaves and sleep; all those colors are their dreams.

  • Leaf Dancers
    by silvercircles

... They sigh and shimmer, / And the soloist dancers / Leap and twirl / On rivers of wind…

Autumn’s almost over, but I can’t let it slip away without a poem.
