This one is a bit older than some of the stuff I’ve put up here so far. It was done a couple of years ago for a book titled “The Big Coat.” (Not exactly my best writing.) Despite the story not exactly standing the test of time I think this piece still holds up fairly well. No? Okay, maybe not, but could you at least pretend that it’s fantastic? Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top? Pretty please with sugar and a fresh, crisp new fifty dollar bill on top?
For a change I wasn’t the one welding so I took the oppurtunity to get a few shots in.Always enjoyable watching someone else work.

Norway, the most beautiful country in the world – or so I personally think. Endlessly inspiring, every view mesmerising, I love it. I have tried to emphasise the ever-present tranquility by focusing on this pile of stones, quite a common site in western norway incidentaly. / I hope you like it!

I Don’t Do Windows / ...I say, only in my dreams. Here, I used the Black and White room for something entirely different! The “sumi-e” effect reminds me of my pen and ink and watercolors; and it is used on each element in this piece. I desaturated each color in the model, and lightened most of them, to achieve a softer, washed color effect. Red was desaturated least. Digital work, after the sumi-e style. F.A. Note: I just got a reproduction back, the color is outstanding. The brilliant luminescent color you see on screen is what you will get. Experimenting with textures layering and little colored brushtrokes in PS. / Not what I had in mind in the beginning but the colors always take control and I must surrender
This abstract draft horse reminds me of a work horse my Granddad had when I was a kid, which was half of the team he used to pull the hay wagon. In those days, we still harvested the hay loose with pitchforks and loaded a huge pile on a wooden wagon with iron wheels. The horse was named Giant, and he was so gentle that five of us kids used to ride him bareback at the same time with just a rope looped around his lower jaw, Indian style.
