Abstract Fractal that resembles a bright blue butterfly
This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D. reference used: Brian Froud’s lady cottongton’s pressed fairy calendar. the fairy is based on the image in the calendar, and the pen-stuff is from my imagination. materials: watercolor pencils and pen.
Actually this Golden Pheasant was chasing peacocks… /
I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.
Old world creation technique was skillfully applied in the making of this Stained glass works.. It can be seen on display in Downtown St. Louis, Mo. at the Museum. It was created for display at the worlds fair there in the early 1900’s… This and other works of that time are highly cherished & collectable by many. Thanks for ck-ing it out here..
Blue Bird Interesting facts: / Some eastern bluebirds are year-round residents in Pennsylvania, but the majority migrate south in the winter, returning to Pennsylvania in early March. The first birds to arrive are males, with females arriving a short time later. Adults often return to the same territories where they previously bred, and young from the previous year return to breed near the area where they were hatched. Soon after arriving, bluebirds begin to look for suitable nesting sites. Pairs begin breeding in early April. The female lays 3-6 pale blue eggs, which she incubates. The eggs hatch within 12 to 14 days, and the young are fed in the nest by both the male and the female for 15 to 20 days. The adults feed the young out of the nest for another ten days before the young are on their own. Most adults will raise two broods in a season. For more information about this bird.. Oestridae (commonly called bot flies or botflies) is a family of Oestroidea. It is one of several families of hairy flies whose larvae live as parasites within the bodies of mammals. There are approximately 150 known species worldwide. Eggs are deposited in animal skin directly, the body heat of the animal induces hatching upon contact. Some forms of botfly also reside in the digestive tract when consumed by a licking action. When ready to emerge, a thumbnail-sized lump will appear and the Fly will break through the skin and fly away leaving it’s host alive with a small wound. / Wiki / Olympus E510
