I took this shot on Bell Island, if you look closely at the base of the cliff you can see a natural tunnel that has been bored through the rock by the water and out to the other side. I’ve got something with eye’s and flowers, as you will notice when I upload more work. This one is, clearly, inspired by the Tarot card with the same name. It’s a 100% watercolour painting. I wanted to join up with a surrealism group here, but I’m not sure if this would fit in there. I always call it surrealism, but isn’t it more somewhere on the borderline between surrealism and fantasy art? With this I’ve introduced the 3 main areas of my artistic endeavors on to RB: still life photography, travel photography and watercolor paintings. I’m calling it a day. / Cheers detail at 100% / more work / I would also like to focus your attention on RosaCobos incredibly beautiful and inspirational comment on this painting: / I can see that he sees…. / I can feel that he is there waiting to open the egg of his own destiny. / But The Foold has not a destiny and he knows it! / The Eye…. peeing wide and wild the intensity of Life, / hidden behing the feminity of the flower..is tender and penetrating, / but not as much as he would love.. / noone takes him seriously, / excepting the wise.. / for you know. that famous quote…”The Fool that persists in his foolishness…..becomes wise”…....just I ponder about it.. and how come the wise can notice this…if his own wisedom makes him disregard such a vanity? the card /
thanks to a friend of mine, i realized i havent added one of my all time favorite shots i have shot to date / i shot this in oct of 2006 after a serious but freaky wind storm, packing winds up to 106mph in the great smoky mountains / we were very lucky to have any colors around after that wind storm / this was shot using a kodak easyshare 6490, way before my guardian angel of photography marianne venegoni (photoeyes) put that canon XT into my hands, / that kodak and i, had to come to an agreement before it ended up learning how to swim or fly, or smashed up against a wall!! / i finally got that camera off the auto settings and learnt the manual settings, i played around with it, experimented and experimented, learning what i could and couldnt do with it (it sucks for shooting wildlife!) but..on this particular day, guess it and i..just..got along / i still look at this shot after i printed it, and go..wow..damn I took that !! lol / hope everyone enjoys, if anyone is interested in a something larger then a card..please contact me its completely humbling when you have someone contact you and tell you , your work inspired them to be creative. this is the very first time in my life ive had someone approach me asking if they could give me their writing. / id like to thank loramae for this beautiful poem. Rushing Past The Colors… Laid on the floor of the world at our feet, / The beauties all of Heaven can afford… / Cast from the hand of the Great Almighty, / Creator of all things loved and adored… / Colors and hues unmistakable in beauty, / Gently caressing the days of our life… / Teasing and pleasing scents of perfection, / Waft through the air in most perfect delight… / Time in minutes and seconds build days… / such blessings live before the naked eye. / But for a moment stop and be so sure… / Your not rushing past the colors of life. I tried to copyright this poem to Loramae / the copyright sign wouldnt work! / If anyone is interested in a card with this sentiment on it, please let me know, I have a friend who is a master with stuff like this and i can ask her to create the template for me. / Loramae..thank you from the bottom of my heart, and i am so glad this work inspired that beautiful writing.

11/2/09 – 1540 views Close up macro of a water-spewing fish on a fountain at the Kennywood amusement park. Many people simply walk past this charming fountain on their way to the Exterminator, Pittsburgh Plunge or Phantom’s Revenge, but I always stop to enjoy the novelty of it. Got some strange looks from people while hanging halfway into the fountain to get this close to the little fish. This will be the last origami piece I post before heading off to Rome; and I will unlikely be doing anymore while I’m in school. I’m not fooling around; I made these ducks before in the first version of “3cm Family Swim” as shown above; and remember I said I may redo that shot at some point? I’ll still keep the other one up though. In this coloured version I coloured the water and sky and placed a transparent ruler over the water. This one has one less duckling than the previous one (I laid off the little guy who wouldn’t raise his bum :P) Every duck was folded from trace paper; mommy duck was folded from a 15×15mm piece, the middle one was 6×6mm, and the little one at the back 5×5mm. Lithuania, Klaipeda region, Curonian spit / THIS SERIES FROM / August 14-16, 2009 : morning/day/evening/night CLICK FOR COMMENTS ! The Curonian Lagoon (or Bay, Gulf; Russian: Kуршский залив, Lithuanian: Kuršių Marios, Polish: Zalew Kuroński, German: Kurisches Haff) is separated from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit. / In the 13th century, the area around the lagoon was part of the ancestral lands of the Curonians and Old Prussian people. Later it bordered the historical region of Lithuania Minor. At the northern end of the Spit, there is a passage to the Baltic Sea, and the place was chosen by the Teutonic Knights in 1252 to found Memelburg castle and the city of Memel. The town is officially called Klaipėda since 1923 when the Memel Territory was separated from the German Empire. / As the new Interwar border, the river that flows into the Curonian Lagoon near Rusnė (German: Ruß) was chosen. The river’s lower 120km in Germany were called die Memel by Germans, while the upper part located in Lithuania was known as Nemunas River. The border also separated the peninsula near the small holiday resort of Nida, Lithuania (German: Nidden); the southern part of the Spit and the Lagoon remained in Germany until 1945. / This border remains today, as after World War II, the southern end of the Spit and the German area south of the river, the part of East Prussia with the town Königsberg located in Sambia, became part an exclave of Russia called Kaliningrad Oblast. Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring! These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures. I live for a sunny day. Taken at Port Melbourne Beach Original shot layered once and a free use texture from www.deviantart.com – tagger stock layered on top, with a slight adjustment of RGB. One of the many many shots I took of the interior of this beautiful cathedral. There is a still pool fountain in the centre of rear nave, and it makes for some beautiful reflections. I’m amazed at how many people miss looking into this for a very different view. Salisbury Cathedral is the tallest surviving pre-1400 spire in the world.
