Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. This reminds me of gummy candies.. I think it’s the color. I was also craving gummy candies while editing this. So that explains a lot..hehe.. I took this some time in the fall when these berries were still on the tree in my front yard. Enjoy!

Something from the vault… another dandelion photo… I just keep discovering these, haha. There’s a gold mine of them on my hard drive. I don’t remember what I used as the background for this, but I edited the saturation to make the red really pop and it reminded me of star bursts. You know the candy, hehe… Enjoy!

A very fast moving thunderstorm had just ended. As the sun broke through the gray clouds above, this wondrous scene appeared before my eyes. The air had been renewed, smelling wonderfully fresh. All of the dust and pollutants had been washed out of the atmosphere and off of the beautiful foliage, leaving this pristine vista begging to be captured for all time. This photo was taken from Strafford Street in the east end of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It was shot handheld with a Canon EOS DSLR / EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at 21mm focal length, f/6.7 at 1/250 sec.
