This was taken on August 29th just before 7PM; It was a blustery, windy but very warm evening with spectacular clouds and an amazing sunset. The rain was on the way, but unfortunately, it never reached us even as close as this seems (and it was very close). The storm turned North and we never saw more than a few sprinkles.

Captured this morning out my second story Hotel Hotel window outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado….sometimes photo opp’s occur in the oddest and unlikely of places! Thank goodness I had my tripod in the room and the camera ready to go already! Not to mention the window actually opened up! So click away I went, bracketing and firing off almost 140 shots….this one I feel is one of the best. Hope ya all like it! / —-John

I went to our local golf course this morning to catch a beautiful sunrise. As I was turning to leave, I realized that there was gorgeous fall color right behind me. So…I took a couple of shots & decided to come back a little later when the sun would be shining through the leaves, providing beautiful back light. An hour later, I returned…and to my horror, there were a number of trucks with tall ladders and men trimming all the wonderful color off the trees!!! / I had to lighten this shot quite a bit to make it work… / But, with a little “Orton Effect” I think I’m happy with it! / Simi Valley, CA Nikon D200, Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens
