A beautifull sunrise captured in Bryce Canyon Natl. Park, Utah. Enjoy!
Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! A piece I did for my BFA show coming up this Spring. This illustrates my character, Norman, and I on the grandest day … really a combination of all grand days. All colour pencil on masonite.
thanks to a friend of mine, i realized i havent added one of my all time favorite shots i have shot to date / i shot this in oct of 2006 after a serious but freaky wind storm, packing winds up to 106mph in the great smoky mountains / we were very lucky to have any colors around after that wind storm / this was shot using a kodak easyshare 6490, way before my guardian angel of photography marianne venegoni (photoeyes) put that canon XT into my hands, / that kodak and i, had to come to an agreement before it ended up learning how to swim or fly, or smashed up against a wall!! / i finally got that camera off the auto settings and learnt the manual settings, i played around with it, experimented and experimented, learning what i could and couldnt do with it (it sucks for shooting wildlife!) but..on this particular day, guess it and i..just..got along / i still look at this shot after i printed it, and go..wow..damn I took that !! lol / hope everyone enjoys, if anyone is interested in a something larger then a card..please contact me its completely humbling when you have someone contact you and tell you , your work inspired them to be creative. this is the very first time in my life ive had someone approach me asking if they could give me their writing. / id like to thank loramae for this beautiful poem. Rushing Past The Colors… Laid on the floor of the world at our feet, / The beauties all of Heaven can afford… / Cast from the hand of the Great Almighty, / Creator of all things loved and adored… / Colors and hues unmistakable in beauty, / Gently caressing the days of our life… / Teasing and pleasing scents of perfection, / Waft through the air in most perfect delight… / Time in minutes and seconds build days… / such blessings live before the naked eye. / But for a moment stop and be so sure… / Your not rushing past the colors of life. I tried to copyright this poem to Loramae / the copyright sign wouldnt work! / If anyone is interested in a card with this sentiment on it, please let me know, I have a friend who is a master with stuff like this and i can ask her to create the template for me. / Loramae..thank you from the bottom of my heart, and i am so glad this work inspired that beautiful writing.
This is an abstract image taken at the edge of a thermal spring in the West Thumb geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. While the image appears to not contain any living thing, the colors themselves are in fact a product of the microscopic organisms called Thermophiles which thrive at extremely high temperatures. When visiting Yellowstone, you will see different veins of colors surrounding the fumaroles, geysers and thermal pools. The various colors in these mats are different types of Thermophiles which thrive at specific temperatures or have preferences for alkaline, acidic, or sulphiric enviroments. The enviroment determines the type of Thermophile that lives there and this diversity creates the colors you see. The color in this image is exactly as it was taken by my camera. It is not a macro image. At the top right, the turquoise color is the very edge of the thermal pool, the white border is mineral deposits and the brown and yellow and orange colors are the Thermophile living in a mat surrounding the pool. / This image has sold as a laminated print and a matted print 3 times through RedBubble. /

Background Information: / Bryce Canyon National Park is a national park located in southwestern Utah in the United States. Contained within the park is Bryce Canyon. Despite its name, this is not actually a canyon, but rather a giant natural amphitheater created by erosion along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to its geological structures, called hoodoos, formed from wind, water, and ice erosion of the river and lakebed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views to visitors. The beauty of color in Autumn. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter, around late September in the United Kingdom. Night becomes visually noticeably ,the cold felt with a strong need not be alone. The leaves fall of the tree and leave them bare and alone. This is part of my autumn theme. / Location: Warwick Park area of Tunbridge Wells – Kent UK
