  • The title is supposed to be lower- case. Inspired by floating cats, I suppose. : > and imagination- but, no….I created this thinking about the oxymoron of becoming an adult, and the children I see today, wearing makeup and talking on cellphones who should be enjoying childhood, not adulthood. Perhaps I am being illusional? But, in spite of it, it saddens and frustrates me when I see little girls and boys who are trying to grow up so fast…. and i don’t think it’s so much children to blame, but, i believe, it’s the media…. / how frustrating! i remember when climbing trees and playing on a playground when you’re twelve was considered normal. but, enough ranting! / Done in photoshop : >

  • “Love Rests on No Foundation ~ It is an endless ocean, with no beginning or end. Imagine, a suspended ocean, riding on a cushion of ancient secrets. All souls have drowned in it, and now dwell there. One drop of that ocean is hope, and the rest is fear.” ~ Quatrains of Rumi Plumeria Blossom on Lava Rocks / Hamoa Beach Maui Hawai`i Copyright © Sharon Mau / All Rights Reserved Featured in Natural Colour and Light group 25 December 2008 Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi This lovely Plumeria blossom floated from the tree which arches overhead as I was walking down the stone steps to the luxurious black sand beach of Hamoa, one of my favourite beaches on Maui. I was captivated with the beauty of it resting softly on the lichen blanketed lava rock and the contrasts of soft sensual beauty with the rough textures of the hardened magma. Of course I instantly stopped and photographed it. It is one of my favourites and I am happy you enjoy it

  • The Divine in Me is all about creation and how it turn us a particle of the Divinity. When we establish contact with our “creative being”, we become a channel for the Superior Power to manifest through us. When we have an idea, it becomes first “plasmed” in the upper planes as materialized thoughts. Then we turn them real in the physical level, through a painting, music, poetry or whatever artistic language we are trained on. I represented this principle by an ethereal sunflower garden – the sunflower is linked to the symbolism Sun/God/Creation – from which we pick the “flowers of imagination” we once planted and bring them to life in the real world.

  • Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring. Nothing has changed, I’m still laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring (lol) Views: 703 as at 25-11-2009 / Favourites: 38 as at 25-11-2009 FEATURED in ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’(June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘First Things’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness & Joy’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Freedom to Shine’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Colour Me a Rainbow’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ (July 2009) / FEATURED In ‘Globes, Spheres and Curves’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘The New Beat Generation’ (August 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Spectacular Spirals’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through Art’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Oh so emotional (happy)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through art (HTA)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Impressionism Cafe’ December 2009 /

  • Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Smooth Card (A3) (unsure of brand of paper as I’ve had it in my studio for years). We all need to look inwards sometimes, I did this image as a cathartic exercise. Views: 701 as at 09-12-09 FEATURED in ‘Finks of Inks’ December 2009

  • A collection of some of my drawings. This kid in the bear suit has lots of imaginary friends.

  • I was experimenting with water and food colouring in my DIY studio at home. I put drops of the dye into the water and then quickly focused before the dye sank to the bottom. I also used thin white plastic with a light behind it to bring up the vivid colours. After viewing this in my digital darkroom I flipped the image just for fun to give it another dimension. It sort of looks like flowers growing up out of the ground.
