I wish I could say that this photo was easy to do..but it wasn’t! / While it appears that I simply smeared my lipstick, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I started out by converting it to a B&W-blue filter-then curving it using the red channel only. I then blew it up to about 300%..and airbrushed the dark red paint on..(no less than 200 agonizing brush strokes!) / It was grueling-but fun. (And thanks to everyone who’s commented, favourited & purchased this! Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.

It is always the Chase with Spot, the conquest is secondary. But then again they had it coming, first the mouse ventured out for that last forbidden morsel, and of course Tabby just could let the opportunity pass…well then the rest is history as they say. No offence to our American Friends… but it really gives me the #@!$ ’s the way you guys spell these words… there are many more, but these are the ones that really bug me! Please bring back the U and return to COLOUR & HUMOUR… it makes tagging and internet searches much easier for the rest of us ;o) I’m sure we are all missing out in one way or another when tagging work or websites and not using both spellings of these and many others… or am I just being dumb? I Don’t Do Windows / ...I say, only in my dreams. Here, I used the Black and White room for something entirely different! The “sumi-e” effect reminds me of my pen and ink and watercolors; and it is used on each element in this piece. I desaturated each color in the model, and lightened most of them, to achieve a softer, washed color effect. Red was desaturated least. Digital work, after the sumi-e style. F.A.
