Model – Meluxine The height of winter, she’s laying on wet frozen ground, in a vintage dress and my ugg boots, full to the brim with Hungry Jacks, watching me dance like a crazy person with a head cold around her when suddenly the sun breaks through right at the perfect moment, and she manages to pull of that look like it’s as easy as microwave popcorn. / This girl rocks. Canon 40D + available [overcast] light. / The film versions are pretty cool too. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

Mixed media on canvas This abstract artwork was inspired from one of my photos featuring a beautiful farm tree and a serene countryside. In this work I really wanted to create a peaceful ambiance and something very natural and calming. I saw it first in a vision, I saw a large tree being surround by lightness and flowing soft colors. I call it Daybreak for the light that seams to be on the tree branches and the soft blue hues of color like the morning mist surrounding this earthen beauty, just before daybreak. This montage of flowers celebrates fhe color purple, the color of passion, of royalty, of depth! The love child of tempestuous red and subdued blue, purple is a cross between fire and ice.

Many trials I overcame / There I remained just the same / Through drought, wind, rain, and hail / I hung there and did not fail The suns face, less I did see / As I hung there on the tree / My beauty then I did show / But struggled not to let go A strong north wind came that day / Force so great I could not stay / On a rock I hang on still / Though the air is starting to chill I hang on for you to see / This is what matters to me / If to you, joy I did bring / It will cause my heart to sing Image made on Porters Creek,Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountain NP ©2008 Gary L. Fall isn’t to be out done by Spring with all the new beginnings and shades of green. For a brief time it bursts into a splendor of warm color just before the dead of Winter.
-
Morning has broken, like the first morning / Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird / Praise for the singing, praise for the morning / Praise for the springing fresh from the word Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven / Like the first dewfall, on the first grass / Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden / Sprung in completeness where his feet pass Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning / Born of the one light, Eden saw play / Praise with elation, praise every morning / God’s recreation of the new day lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon
