MAMMATUS CLOUDS Striking mammatus clouds moved into my area on Good Friday before Easter in April, 2006. The Storms Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma had put our area under our second ‘TORNADO WATCH’ of the year. / We were expecting extreme weather with severe storms that very day. Little did I realize I was standing under the anvil of a severe thunderhead while shooting these incredible clouds! I took around 100 pictures as they changed from one brilliant color to another in front of the setting sun. The event lasted about 45 minutes, and I will never forget how truly beautiful the sky was when the mammatus clouds came in my area here in Ashland, Kentucky that Friday!

My daughter and I went to a place called CK’s for Easter Sunday Brunch. CK’s is located on top of the Marriot Hotel at Tampa International Airport. We had some time to kill before we had to be upstairs for brunch so we wondered around the main terminal of the airport. That is where this beautiful centerpiece was located. Trust me when I say this picture does not do it justice. It was truly breathtaking.
