As a landscape photographer I am always in search of new interesting spots to depict. That’s why I travel a lot, when I can. However, I do believe that photography belongs more to how you see, than to what you see. With this in mind, I try to take advantage of any opportunity nature present me with, and I often realize that I don’t really need to travel a lot… This meadow is right outside my yard gate. I took this picture on last October, on a fresh early morning at sunrise, while some mist in the distance was spreading the dawn light tinging the sky with beautiful warm tones. Model – Meluxine These are some outtake/alternates from the same shoot as Apple Blossom Girl – I actually took LOTS of shots from that set and am having strife picking the final shots to use, and since I treat RB as an alt/outtake spot as well as a preview/never before seen/standard portfolio, I figured what the hell ;) This particular pair were shot on my late Grandfather’s Ensign Selfix 820 on god knows what film, Fuji NPS 160 I thiiiiink… or possibly Portra 400NC. I had no idea what to expect, having never put film through the damn thing before, so the fact they worked and looked delightfully dreamy was very cool. These are scanned from the 120 neg, straight off the camera – no editing aside from putting them next to each other and whacking my watermark on them. Woohoo. “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road.
