  • Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! • Under the Old Fort Bayou Bridge

  • HDR image of a Steinway Piano at a friends’ home. She’s quite an accomplished artist herself, she painted the images behind the piano in Tuscany Italy. I’m looking for a good title for this image, this piano hasn’t been played in years. If you can think of a title that jumps out at you, I’d appreciate you posting it for me. Thanks. • Rising between the picturesque waters of Lake Monona and Lake Mendota, the majestic granite structure of the Madison State Capitol building in Wisconsin, glows like a beacon, accenting the Madison skyline. This is an HDR image, actually a re-work since the original was the first HDR image I ever created. I have learned a few things since then, hope you like it. • Captured this image aboard the Cruiseship “Valor”, during a 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise. Some of the ships’ interior was quite interesting and warranted a few photo sessions. This is a 15 second exposure of some empty barstools, shot from the floor with camera angled upwards. Image made with tripod mounted Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70mm lens. The image itself has been run through ReDynaMix for an HDR “feel”, then converted to B&W, then with several layers gradually punched through the layers to achieve the selective coloring on the barstools from the original color HDR image. / Please view in Large to see all of the detail ….

  • Featured in “Landscape Photography” Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada I knew going that I wanted a shot dramatically different then the standard “Moraine Lake” photo that everyone has. I took this photo in the early spring of this year, before the lake had reached it’s normal levels. Didn’t realize it at the time but I was very lucky to have gotten this shot as I came back 3 days later and the rock had already been completely submerged. Woke up at 2am and drove 2 and half hours in the dark and then slept at the lake for about 30 mins before going out to take pictures. Spent almost 4 hours walking the shores trying different shots. I was about to go home when i spotted this rock, I knew I had finally found the shot I wanted. Cheers

  • Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  • Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.

WHEEEEEEE!!!! / 705 views on 11/7/09 This image was taken at the same time on October 10, 2009, and in relatively the same spot as Almost Home , but I was turned in the other direction, looking back the way I’d come. This area is within the Blue Knob State Park in Pavia, Pennsylvania on the extension of Pavia Road (4035). Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200m vr Nikon lens, hand held. Shutter 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 1,000. Duplicates created in Photoshop to an eval of +3, +1 and -3 and processed in Photomatix Pro for hdr, then returned to Photoshop for the addition of two textures and some tweaking. Well, actually, considerable tweaking. How do the road workers know to put their obnoxious signs RIGHT where I want to snap a shot??? And as for the RVers off to the left … well .. thank heavens for the clone tool, LOL!!! My thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the textures.

  • Nikon D300 / Nikkor 18-200mm / HDR (1 raw shot) / in Photomatix Pro3.1 / pp in PS CS3
