Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!
Cusco, Perú !!! / This is one of the first shot I took in Cusco this year !!! / I had just arrived and I was feeling a bit strange and not really in the mood to take pictures of people.. I was maybe thinking about life a bit too much ! / But when she passed by I said something funny to her and pressed the bottom !! / I´m glad i did !
Self Portrait…..

If these birds have just eaten, things could get pretty messy. (Did I just make a poop joke? Have I sunk so low? A poop joke? Seriously?)
This was pure fun, there was this whole group of women and one “beautifull’ man, i really wanted to take his shot and they where asking me ‘why you want photo from that man”, well i said because he is ‘beautifull’ they thought that was sooo funny..they wanted on the photo ,forget about him, take us! so i did offcourse and that attracted more people…finally i made a shot of the ‘beautifull’ man too.. but that was at least an hour later!! Ayacucho, Peru ! Quechua and Aymara were the main languages spoken by the native people of the central highland of South America before the arrival of the spanish ! / In the rural areas of Ayacucho, in central Peru, like in the areas around Cusco the majority of native people still speaks Quechua and some of them barely spanish ! / I didn´t meet many tourists during the time spent in this part of Peru and i really felt immerse in a different reality ! / .
Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.
This is my Little Linc this time last year. Only 7 months old. /

Photo taken along the walkway at Moonstone Beach, Cambria, CA after the sun set. FEATURED IN Out of the Past…with thanks to the hosts!! FEATURED IN Everyday Women ~ sincere thanks to the hosts and members. Inspired by poetry: Donal Óg / by Isabella Augusta, Lady Gregory Translated from an anonymous eighth-century Irish poem It is late last night the dog was speaking of you; / the snipe was speaking of you in her deep marsh. / It is you are the lonely bird through the woods; / and that you may be without a mate until you find me. You promised me, and you said a lie to me, / that you would be before me where the sheep are flocked; / I gave a whistle and three hundred cries to you, / and I found nothing there but a bleating lamb. You promised me a thing that was hard for you, / a ship of gold under a silver mast; / twelve towns with a market in all of them, / and a fine white court by the side of the sea. You promised me a thing that is not possible, / that you would give me gloves of the skin of a fish; / that you would give me shoes of the skin of a bird; / and a suit of the dearest silk in Ireland. When I go by myself to the Well of Loneliness, / I sit down and I go through my trouble; / when I see the world and do not see my boy, / he that has an amber shade in his hair. It was on that Sunday I gave my love to you; / the Sunday that is last before Easter Sunday. / And myself on my knees reading the Passion; / and my two eyes giving love to you for ever. My mother said to me not to be talking with you today, / or tomorrow, or on the Sunday; / it was a bad time she took for telling me that; / it was shutting the door after the house was robbed. My heart is as black as the blackness of the sloe, / or as the black coal that is on the smith’s forge; / or as the sole of a shoe left in white halls; / it was you that put that darkness over my life. You have taken the east from me; you have taken the west from me; / you have taken what is before me and what is behind me; / you have taken the moon, you have taken the sun from me; / and my fear is great that you have taken God from me!

During a sunny day I capture this girl crossing the street. With some manipulation and digital enhancement I turned it into a night shot.
This design was inspired by seeing so many mushrooms growing on our property. It has rained for three weeks now, and yesterday I came across a mushroom the size of a large plate (or a sitting stool as our neighbour pointed out). This is my Laurel and Hardy of mushrooms.
