Taken on top of Vail Resorts near Chair #11(Colorado). I worked here for the winter season of 2003-04. My place of business is off the distance in this photo. My job required me to be on top of the mountain every morning before the sun had risen. We often sat here waiting for the sun to rise just so we could warm up a little, but my photos that were taken in this spot are priceless to me. The skiers in the photo are the lift operators getting on their way to open the next lift for us (what a pity they didnt stay with me to continue watching this marvel). / This photo is the proudest moment of my life. When ever I feel down or sad I close my eyes to remember this moment. / There were alot of people there that day and it seemed that I was the only lucky one with a camera. It was a very cold morning and I destinctly remember how warm the sun was as soon as it came up. / And in case you are wondering…....... NO it is not manipulated at all.
This purple picture is a Colorado mountain sunset. The whole sky was lit with this amazing purple and I had to pull over and get the shot.
Shot Thoughts & Background Info—- Fairmont Cemetery in Denver is one of my all time favorite places to shoot at, especially during the Autumn months. It is quite old with headstones dating to when Denver was barely even a city. Quite massive in size, many of the structures contained within it are fascinating examples of architectural style. For this shot, I really wanted something different, so when I was shooting it I made sure to use my Minolta 18-200 DT lens so I could go ultra wide and capture as much as I could I had an idea already in my head for the post work, and for the most part I think it works as I had planned. I really wanted something moody, heavy on the atmosphere, that provoked thought in people when they saw it. Something that made them stop and think for a second. HDR Processed. Shot Details Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-200 DT Lens 18mm | f10 | iso 200 | 1/200 | / Singh-Ray CPL / Processed through Lightroom, Photomatix for HDR, and then finally Photoshop Thoughts welcomed! —-John jdebordphoto.com

in this intersection between here and there, a cow feedlot rests. Nothing particular arises from this except there is a faint impression of well known colors in the sky. usually these colors (the rainbow) means something of renewal, hope or a promise.

Sunset Overlooking Winter Park Colorado in a Thanksgiving Eve.
Captured while storm chasing on the plains of Colorado, I was actually out to capture the sunset this evening bu8t instead, went running after clouds and thunderstorms, something that I have wished to and wanted to do. I took this photo of a gorgeous Western Kingbird as he was sitting on a limb in a tree by a lake in Colorado. He is quite a handsome fellow.

Blue and Bear Lakes are local favorites of the La Veta and Cuchara residents. They are located at the base of the climb to Cuchara Pass and just behind the Fountain Formation, nestled in a pocket of the majestic Sangre de Cristo range. Photograph with Nikon D2XS and Nikkor 24-120 ED VR
A deep red alpenglow over Golden Colorado’s foothills no major effects or filters on this one, just a few minor adjusts let a stunning sky silhouette a few spare trees on the hillside. I captured the image on a friends borrowed camera.
This hot air balloon is about to take a dip into Prospect Lake in Memorial Park at the Colorado Balloon Classic 2009, Colorado Springs, CO. Dipping is where the bottom of the basket touches the surface of the water. This digital art photography effect, combined with the fractalius filter (many uses and effects), gives the modern day image a 1950s feel, along with a bicycler, old pick up trucks, etc. The pastel colors are soothing to the eye.
A perfect early fall evening caps this glorious September day in Colorado.

It doesn’t always seem like it, but there’s always something to look at on the way to Colorado!

Shot at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in Colorado, a couple of anonymous snowriders ride Norway Chairlift strait into a waning afternoon sun as a jetliner passes overhead. Multiple processes were implemented to create this unique look.
