Sunflower Sunset What can I even say about this shot…....the sky just really cooperated with me when I was shooting this, one of the most gorgeous sunsets I had ever seen. I ventured out in the field but then as I did I stepped back, and realized that maybe I good overall shot would be god as well. I wasn’t alone either, somewhere out in that field are several other photogs…..I could see the flashes and a couple people who also had their tripod set up . I just sat in awe, taking all this in, it was almost to perfect a scene….and I was just sitting there with my mouth open saying aloud “You have got to be kiddin’ me!!! Thank you Lord!” lol So I went to town and kept shooting, venturing out later into the field, and just kept firing shot off after shot. Shot at Red Rocks State Park outside of Denver…..something about this just caught me eye, the composition and the textures….the stark reality of winter, and the natural saturation itself. Hope ya all like it!
Standing like a sentinel on guard, this male Coyote in Rocky Mountain National Park glances over his shoulder as he hears something behind him. I managed to captured him when he was prowling around the area for prey, such a gorgeous animal, with the late day sun hitting him perfectly. His eyes are just stunning….. —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. Towering above at 13,001 feet in altitude, Summit Lake is breathtaking. Showcasing Mount Evans in the background, it displays wildflowers which are found no where else on earth except the arctic circle. Captured in the morning light and processed in HDR, I really wanted to scene to come to life. Colorado is certainly known for it’s parks, and this one I happened upon out of the blue one day….it really is a majestic site, with these odd rock formations just jetting straight up from the earth, as if reaching for the sky. I was also lucky enough to capture the distant clouds as they were building for afternoon thunderstorms, later that day….spose you can say I like the sense of drama that they add to the image overall. / HDR processed, thoughts most welcomed! —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. Nestled outside of Copper Mountain in Colorado, this caught my attention fast as I was coming back home to Denver. It literally came out of no where, and thus I slammed on the breaks and made a B-line for the shoulder of the road. This was an utterly incredible scene, looking like it has never even been touched by man…..standing here looking at this, was nothing but absolute paradise….. / --John —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com
This image was taken in March of 2007 on my way back from Evergreen, Colorado when I was there helping my Mother with a broken ankle. As I was driving back I noticed the spectacular cloud formations around me and found this place off a side road. The sun set and the colors and mood were timeless. I snapped the image and knew right away this would be a keeper.
Garden Of The Gods State Park, Colorado I really wanted to try and capture the atmosphere in this shot, hope I did :) / John

First Light of The Lord Watching this sunrise come up in Rocky Mountain National Park was akin to witnessing paradise unfold before your eyes. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and stunning sunrises I have seen in a long while. The way the Alpineglow reflected against the mountains was amazing, the color changing ever so quickly, it seemed to change color as fast as I could hold down the shutter. / Hope ya all like it! Columbine Lake was painted from a photo I took of this high mountain lake in Colorado while on a backpacking trip. The setting was spectacular, so I couldn’t resist. It took me two months to finish the piece as I reworked the paint to create a good harmony of color. Original ptg: 60” x 36” / acrylic on canvas artist’s collection

For this shot another photographer I met at the bend was so kind to lend me his 10-22 mm canon wide angle lense. I was very happy because for my other picture of the bend I had to do a 8 shot panorama. A wide angle is definitly my next investment :-) I did mainly color and sharpness adjustments to this shot. This way it definitly doesn’t come out of the sensor ;-) Well sometimes I’m in a mood to do some harsher postproc! hope you guys like it! regards, / Michael
