“I Make the Best of It“ Having a bad-hair day? Make the best of it… it can’t be as bad as this Emu with a grassy hairdo… / When I shot this at the Indianapolis Zoo, I was really pleased to see the Emu had such a large area to roam. The first thing we did when we reached Wildwood, New-Jersey for our last family vacation was to park the car close to the beach, remove our shoes and go for a walk in the sand. We didn’t even go to our lodgings first… that could certainly wait! The boys (17, 16 and 14), who were still dressed in short and t-shirt from the 11-hour car ride, ran into the water all dressed up, while mom and dad just looked around and relaxed a bit. A father and son were flying a kite a short distance away, and I thought that its bright colours looked great against the dark cloudy sky. Just as I whipped out my camera to make the shot, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, making the kite look as if it were dancing on a sun ray… What a great welcome! :-) Focal length 55mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/14 / Shutter 1/800 sec. A digital interpretation of one of the most beautiful / faces ever created, Botticelli’s ‘Venus’, this digital / painting is from from ‘Botticelli’s Ladies’ by Norval / Arbogast. I was influenced by Zazzle artist Cheryl / Danials wonderful work with vintage art, and her / original models faces. I tryed to keep the features / as close to the original painting as possible, but / made the hair very ‘Mucha-esque. I hope you / share this beautiful face with your family and / friends.

The beauty of color in Autumn. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter, around late September in the United Kingdom. Night becomes visually noticeably , the cold felt with a strong need not be alone. So the leaves fall and leave the tree bare and alone. This is part of my autumn theme. / Location: Warwick Park area of Tunbridge Wells – Kent UK Canon EOS 30D / Focal Length: 90
