  • When I woke up before dawn and found myself wondering along the shore with a camera a tripod, this was precisely the image I was after. The boat reminded me of the frailties of our existence, all alone, stranded at low tide, unable to float around with any dignity with the ominous clouds closing in on it’s steel hull. Yet it stood proud and tall, living each day as it came at the mercy of nature and the elements around it.

  • Captured in the ghost town of Como, Colorado…..this Horse and many others like him, have had a really hard winter. The town was cut off from supplies for over 6 weeks, and when I was up that way I wanted to make sure the Horses were ok…and to my pleasure they were. / They are working horses, an icon of the American West, ridden by Cowboys and worked everyday. A disappearing icon at that, but one that will forever remain and legend and go down in history. See more on my website at jdebordphoto.com —-John

  • Amazing that such a cold morning can seem to warm in a photograph, all because of color and light….needless to say I was freezing when I shot this and cold tripods usually don’t tend to warm your hands up well lol / Captured at Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado

  • Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. • I visited this area many times over the last 20 years to photograph this very scene, usually in the dark after twilight. I was there two nights ago and I couldn’t resist shooting it again as the sun set. I was also fortunate this time to have the lights from the two cars which passed by, one up and one down the hill, aligned so nicely. This is taken at “Ladies Lookout” atop Signal Hill, St John’s Newfoundland Canada. “Ladies Lookout” is so named because from this very point women would for generations walk there to look for signs of their men returning from the fishing grounds, the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. You can only imagine when Mother Nature unleashed the mighty North Atlantic the humility these people must have felt! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 30 / Av( Aperture Value ) 22.0 / ISO Speed 100 For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr
