  • My origami calendar I hope people aren’t tired of my origami; but I needed to do this before the flower dies; my mom brought some flowers back from a wedding two weekends ago, and when I saw this particular flower, I really wanted to create this image because the centre of this flower looked like a field. The folded peacock is comprised of two piece of paper: one for the body, the other for the tail. The body is made from a 6×6mm paper, and the tail I faned out of a circle about 1cm in diameter which I cut a slit through. The peacock walks through a field of colour and gets pollen on itself; and that is how the peacock got its color! • I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.

  • I love the different textures and colors this little bud had… it has the same colors as a peacock feather! This was taken with a sigma 105mm macro lens, the bud was tiny about the size of my pinky nail.

  • The Utah Prairie Dog is the smallest species of prairie dog, a member of the squirrel family of rodents native to the south central steppes of the US state of Utah. Like all prairie dogs, the Utah Prairie Dog is an active forager, eating a wide array of vegetation including grasses, flowers, and seeds. They build extensive “towns” of underground tunnels and chambers, each town composed of a population of members of an extended prairie dog family. Many other species make use of their burrows, including owls, snakes, and other rodents. source: wikipedia

  • Last in the series… I can’t decided if this is my favorite or not. Enjoy! There are dandelion seeds with colorful paper as the background.

  • For some reason that Moby song has been stuck in my head for daaaays… even though I haven’t heard it in months. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qdb4NyHdFfE Have a listen! More from my experiment with a mirror and sequin stars. I used colorful wrapping paper to reflect in the mirror and some glitter sprinkled on the mirror… Enjoy!

  • Oestridae (commonly called bot flies or botflies) is a family of Oestroidea. It is one of several families of hairy flies whose larvae live as parasites within the bodies of mammals. There are approximately 150 known species worldwide. Eggs are deposited in animal skin directly, the body heat of the animal induces hatching upon contact. Some forms of botfly also reside in the digestive tract when consumed by a licking action. When ready to emerge, a thumbnail-sized lump will appear and the Fly will break through the skin and fly away leaving it’s host alive with a small wound. / Wiki / Olympus E510
