Some people are the genuine article, others portray themselves as something that they are not. It is all a matter of choice. If you are comfortable with who you are, you will put the real you, out there, whether you are criticized for it or not. Most of us are still growing and as such, have not realized our full potential. It is not wrong to aspire to be an individual with qualities that you do not completely have as yet. The adage “Fake It Until You Make It” comes to mind. However we may get so used to those qualities, whether we have achieved them or not, that really seeing the reflection of our true selves, may shock or surprise us. I have been aspiring to be a thin person, yet every time I see my reflection, that fat person is still there laughing at me. So much for aspirations, but I will still keep trying, so much is the game of life, win or lose! Original image of rose and butterfly taken separately in my garden in Shady Cove, Oregon. Rose and butterfly added separately, as composites, to a black background. Flood filter used for reflection, Luminosity blending mode used to desaturate the reflection.
