Of the two albino squirrels that I shot this morning, one was still a little sleepy. I was trying to get a clear shot of his entire head, but I couldn’t get the angle needed. Still, that twig was gripped in the squirrel’s hind foot, so I guess it was a good trade-off. It was also a rare treat to catch this little critter sleeping. The more that I look at this picture, the more that I love it. I can’t look at it now without smiling. I also now tend to reflect upon the helplessness of nature as man continues to invade their environment. How many animals will lose their homes to man’s quest for more profit today, tomorrow, the years ahead?

Each one of us is unique. No two are alike, unless you have a twin. Even then there are differences. This image celebrates that fact. We just simply are perfect! The message to us is that we should love ourselves, zits, moles, birthmarks and all. Fractalius Filter used for definition, selective coloring used to bring out the color of one leaf, flood filter used to reflect the leaf’s perfection back. Origonal Image taken at Prospect, Oregon
