This is a shot taken at Stan Heywet and it is a beautiful path of birch trees / Stan Heywet was a mansion owned by a extremely rich family back in the 1800’s. / It was converted into a museum which has acres of gardens for sight seeing. / You can do tours of the mansion and the garden. It has literally acres of gardens and walkways. This is actually an image of a painted wall (blue) and a board (red) that was nailed to the wall. This was originally shot horizontally but I knew that by rotating it 90 degrees, it would give the effect of earth and sky with the cracked paint acting as clouds. Others see it as a beach with the crack acting as a crashing wave. That’s the great thing about art, we can interpret and appreciate it from our own unique, and equally valid, perspectives. This was taken in an abandoned complex. Other images from this location can be seen here.

As a landscape photographer I am always in search of new interesting spots to depict. That’s why I travel a lot, when I can. However, I do believe that photography belongs more to how you see, than to what you see. With this in mind, I try to take advantage of any opportunity nature present me with, and I often realize that I don’t really need to travel a lot… This meadow is right outside my yard gate. I took this picture on last October, on a fresh early morning at sunrise, while some mist in the distance was spreading the dawn light tinging the sky with beautiful warm tones.
