  • Three birthday cupcakes in blue, green, and yellow with lit candles, confetti, and sprinkles on a mirrored background

  • The butterfly is blended with a colourful fractal abstract background. I used the filters of a graphic program to create the artistic effects.

  • Digital art creation of a sunflower with some pizzaazz / /

  • Autumn colors near sunset.

  • Abstract Fractal that resembles a bright blue butterfly

  • This one is a bit older than some of the stuff I’ve put up here so far. It was done a couple of years ago for a book titled “The Big Coat.” (Not exactly my best writing.) Despite the story not exactly standing the test of time I think this piece still holds up fairly well. No? Okay, maybe not, but could you at least pretend that it’s fantastic? Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top? Pretty please with sugar and a fresh, crisp new fifty dollar bill on top?

  • Oh man… It took me forever to get this one to the point where I would submit it here to RedBubble, haha. Anyway, it’s loosely based off of a tattoo design I drew up a while back. I was wanting “Strong and Courageous” in Latin across the banner, but the translators I found online came up with “Validus quod Fortis” which means “Mighty and Strong.” But it works well enough for me ;) Hope you guys like it!

  • Circles of soft sweet green grass covered hills that drifted toward a hidden sea. The roar of waves crashing against the dawn was deafening and yet contained a silent glee that chimed like glass bells. I saw a flame. At first I was afraid. I stepped away and started to run to the top of the mountain. I looked back. The flames warm glow flooded the path with golden light. I realized that even though it was a fire, it didn’t seem to be dangerous. And the light fell down in drapes to the water, which waited and hugged it. The sand danced and sang songs. It was a kind of wedding ceremony. / “Oh well, I wasn’t invited,” I said to myself and turned to hike away. When I finally reached the summit I looked back down to the grotto with the flame and it was gone. All that remained were flowers. Flame in a Garden is acrylic on canvas 30”x40”

  • Dear Peter … Josie and I just returned from Central America a few days ago … you remember .. I told you about the trip a few months ago (smile) ... Well … (grin) ... we were extremely lucky to catch a glimpse of the newest variation of the Quetzal bird … Spendorus Resplendent … only seen once before by the noted orthinologist, Roger M. Milhouse, PhD, on his last trip to the region back in 2001. You remember him don’t you? ... the bird guy from back in our university days? LOL … I know you couldn’t have forgotten him (grin) ... well … You can imagine our excitement yet we were able to quickly get his photo. No not Roger’s photo (grin) ... Do check the attachment (smile) After we returned I sent a copy to Roger who immediately emailed back that it was indeed the bird that he had seen. I plan to meet with him in a few months to tentatively plan a trip back to the area where we sited the bird. I’m so excited I can hardly wait. Would you be interested in joining me when I meet with Roger? .. Josie is tied up with another project and won’t have time to help me out on this one. I know how interested you are in the wildlife of Central America so … get back to me as soon as you can … if you’re really interested I’d love to have you join us (big smile) Cassie for more information see The Resplendent Quetzal Featured Art – October 2009 – RedBubble Group: ImageWriting Work done in Apophysis with post work in Gimp. / Best viewed large. • From the ongoing Light Flame Abstract series… Land of Confusion, by Genesis… I must’ve dreamed a thousand dreams / Been haunted by a million screams / But I can hear the marching feet / They’re moving into the street Now did you read the news today / They say the danger’s gone away / But I can see the fire’s still alight / There burning into the night There’s too many men, too many people / Making too many problems / And not much love to go round / Can’t you see this is a land of confusion? Well this is the world we live in / And these are the hands we’re given / Use them and let’s start trying / To make it a place worth living in Ooh, Superman where are you now / When everything’s gone wrong somehow? / The men of steel, the men of power / Are losing control by the hour This is the time, this is the place / So we look for the future / But there’s not much love to go round / Tell me why, this is a land of confusion This is the world we live in / And these are the hands we’re given / Use them and let’s start trying / To make it a place worth living in I remember long ago when the sun was shining / Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night / And the sound of your laughter as I held you tight, so long ago I won’t be coming home tonight / My generation will put it right / We’re not just making promises / That we know, we’ll never keep Too many men, there’s too many people / Making too many problems / And not much love to go round / Can’t you see, this is a land of confusion? Now this is the world we live in / And these are the hands we’re given / Use them and let’s start trying / To make it a place worth fighting for / This is the world we live in This is the world we live in / And these are the names we’re given / Stand up and let’s start showing / Just where our lives are going to :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: / “Well this is the world we live in / And these are the hands we’re given / Use them and let’s start trying / To make it a place worth living in…” / :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Apophysis 2.07beta / 9000×7200pixels ~ use large view, please ~ thanks for the look, my friends! / Live the Peace… Serious Fun Studios ~ fractal art images and photography Fractal Art Prints & Products by SBricker @ Zazzle fractal art by SBricker @ devientART Scott Bricker at Fine Art America Scott Bricker’s art at Art Wanted.com

  • When I learned the song Au Claire de la Lune I was 9 years old and in my mind I saw this image very clearly. I guess I didn’t want the candle to be dead and I suppose I mixed up the candle and the death and the letter writing and the moonlight and love and princesses and all the other things little 9 year old girls think about into one colorful image. I’m really happy to be able to “see it for real” now. Corel Painter Essentials 4. / /
