Illustration of Bertha the witch who comes from Brazil and was given to me years ago by my cousin Carla. She has followed me all around the world since then so she is close to my heart. Unfortunately, she lost her broom somewhere along the way … so she’s asking everyone to keep careful and safe and not lose their brooms! Great for Halloween or just as a gift for anyone who loves quirky witches.

This is the fourth in my ohh so creatively titled “Monster Series.” In this one, the monsters have chased the little blond haired kid onto a train. (These guys just won’t give up) I was hoping to get these done a little quicker but things have been busier than a Jackson Pollack painting lately and because of that I had to put the series on the back-burner for a bit.

Pastel pencils on Canson paper. Autumn comes with changes, neither good nor bad, they just are. And often these changes bring about a beauty like no other time offers. Beauty is neither good nor bad either, just as decline is just….........what it is. There is beauty in all aspects of this planet, in these colors. / Color is offered at the same time light fades and life wanes. / Life wanes at the same time it begins the plans for expansion and beginning again. / It is a gorgeous, ageless, timeless cycle full of promise for more. / Promises of change….......................
