Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.

I just uploaded this new scan from my work!! I just completed this mixed media piece. The image size is 14×18 inches. I used archival ink and derwent graphitint watercolor pencils. This is drawn on illustration board and took many hours. I completed the border over a year ago and could not decide what I wanted to put in the middle. I was originally going to call this drawing “If I Could Help Design An Antelope” but as I finished it I decided that it had an old world feeling to it and the name “Paradise” seemed to fit. you will not see this species anywhere as I dreamed it up:) Any proceeds from the sale of prints and cards from RB will be donated to The Philadelphis Mission. The Divine in Me is all about creation and how it turn us a particle of the Divinity. When we establish contact with our “creative being”, we become a channel for the Superior Power to manifest through us. When we have an idea, it becomes first “plasmed” in the upper planes as materialized thoughts. Then we turn them real in the physical level, through a painting, music, poetry or whatever artistic language we are trained on. I represented this principle by an ethereal sunflower garden – the sunflower is linked to the symbolism Sun/God/Creation – from which we pick the “flowers of imagination” we once planted and bring them to life in the real world.

when i was five i had a lace up pair of white boots, i still remember tying / the laces as they had to be hooked around little hooks. this is where this drawing began with the boots. work detail

Pencil drawing layered in photoshop to create a gradient. I like the effect I achieved with adding color. I wanted to put this image on t-shirts here at RB, but the previews are horrible and inaccurate (shows up mostly grey), So until they fix the previews, it’s going to be up at MySoti page. The little one is slipping off the perch. You see, her brother had a hold of the side of the cage. I got several snapshots, from which I drew the picture. This is Peter and Wendy, two of my orphan wildlife babies. They were healthy and fat until their release at the wildlife center at about 3 months of age.
