Yes, before you say it … strange! :-) As of July 2009, this painting has had 5,048 viewings and has been favourited 79 times and had 194 comments, so I guess someone out there likes it. Many thanks for your enthusiasm. To be candid though, I’ll never cease to be amazed at its reception, as I didn’t spend too much time on it and even kept it out of my portfolio for ages as I thought it was sub-standard. The title is supposed to be lower- case. Inspired by floating cats, I suppose. : > and imagination- but, no….I created this thinking about the oxymoron of becoming an adult, and the children I see today, wearing makeup and talking on cellphones who should be enjoying childhood, not adulthood. Perhaps I am being illusional? But, in spite of it, it saddens and frustrates me when I see little girls and boys who are trying to grow up so fast…. and i don’t think it’s so much children to blame, but, i believe, it’s the media…. / how frustrating! i remember when climbing trees and playing on a playground when you’re twelve was considered normal. but, enough ranting! / Done in photoshop : >
a drawing using pastels on canson paper that I never finished… / used photo reference from some magazine cosmetics ad, probably CoverGirl :) close-up /

The Divine in Me is all about creation and how it turn us a particle of the Divinity. When we establish contact with our “creative being”, we become a channel for the Superior Power to manifest through us. When we have an idea, it becomes first “plasmed” in the upper planes as materialized thoughts. Then we turn them real in the physical level, through a painting, music, poetry or whatever artistic language we are trained on. I represented this principle by an ethereal sunflower garden – the sunflower is linked to the symbolism Sun/God/Creation – from which we pick the “flowers of imagination” we once planted and bring them to life in the real world.
when i was five i had a lace up pair of white boots, i still remember tying / the laces as they had to be hooked around little hooks. this is where this drawing began with the boots. work detail

This was created in reference to the cover of Libba Bray’s novel, A Great and Terrible Beauty. It is a grid drawing piece done in colored pencil.
I tweaked the colors of this image so that it works better with RB previews. Based on pictures from previous buyers I think it will print much more vibrant that the previews show. I also added a few details. This image is available as a PRINT
He’s the magnifico luchador..
This is what I used to do way back when I actually had a life. It’s about 30×40 inches and done in color pencil on rives paper.
The little one is slipping off the perch. You see, her brother had a hold of the side of the cage. I got several snapshots, from which I drew the picture. This is Peter and Wendy, two of my orphan wildlife babies. They were healthy and fat until their release at the wildlife center at about 3 months of age. The reward for caring for sick and injured wildlife is the chance to raise totally healthy babies. Graphite Pencils from 5-H to 6-B / Primsa Color pencils Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber / 8×10 inches
