This shot cracks me up so much. She is sitting completely stil on the deck of her swingset. But if you just look at her expression, you would think she was riding a roller coaster.

I lit myself using just a blue party light-bulb, positioned closely to me by laying one of my lamps on its side. I was wearing a velvet burgundy dress and had my hair pulled back. The lack of adequate light produced this strangely ghostly/alien image of me. The staircase . . . i went to an old community building where artists lived and could take art lessons in Seattle, WA. There had been a fire and the place was in a state of repair. Lots of cool, gutted out rooms, abandoned spaces. I snuck in, flirted my way past the construction workers and got some great pictures. The most festive version of my Wino Mouse . Each colour version is a different shot, using various backgrounds and/or lighting. It is not a single image treated differently in Photoshop. The little colour dots on the stopper are a strand of Christmas lights reflecting on the shiny surface as well as on the white shiny background, which coloured it quite nicely. I think that it would make an appropriate Party Invitation card. Focal length 36mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5.3 / Shutter 4 sec. I think outside the box I’m told / By those that hear my words / My thoughts can not be bought or sold / Nor labeled as absurd / / I do not know how to conform / Nor have I that desire / I do not wish to follow norms / Created by empire / / An open mind, my policy / Catch thoughts like wind in sails / Keep my mind free to hear and see / The truths that will prevail / / I always question everything / Process without an end / And when I find an answer sought / Rethink answer again / / My mind is all that’s truly free / My thoughts can not be taken / A treasure that’s precious to me / And not to be forsaken / / This fractal artwork was inspired by the mind of the artist, which I typically find as one that is ‘thinking outside of the box’. An open mind is a beautiful gift, and most often found alongside the imaginative and creative minds of artistic people. I love bringing my thoughts to my fellow artists, as they see them with an open mind, without the need for debate or condemnation to validate their own views. This is more commonly known as respect, and I have as much respect for their views as I do my own, and often find that this free exchange of thoughts and ideals help me to grow as a person. Thank you all for this gift of growth. / / The original is 3600×3600 pixels at 300 pixels per inch. This is actually an IFS type flame created in Incendia (the same type of fractal created in Apophysis) combined with 3D base shape meshes. The only post processing was to add black borders to bring the artwork to a more standard printing size. Because the original is so large and difficult to see over the internet, I have included a few detail cutaways below. / / / / / / / /

As it was in the time of WWII and as it is now. A layering of the old datum and ranges chart found painted on the concrete walls of the Gun emplacement that guarded the entrance to the Whangarei Harbour, and a group of friends peacefully fishing off the rocks at Mitimiti, Northland, New Zealand.
