Applying a roll up and printing. Finally I divided the original plate into three panels and incorporated all I had learnt before to produce the image above. / This image was a journey for me and it was certainly a journey I enjoyed taking. / / More of my Works /

  • Collagraph printed on rice paper

  • This is a Collagraph which I am most proud of…..this is the original colour of the print and instead of rolling it through the press I have made a Monoprint of the actual print. Gosh, what does that mean…well the original plate is run through the press (see blue one). This one however is rubbed off the plate, so the print is not so deep. Its a one off, where as the others are editions. Mmmm, still confused? Hope not. B 2343 on 27/11/09 Printed in Blue – I only have four of these prints.

  • Collagraphic Print on BK Rives Inspired by the movie Constantine. / Gabriel was played by Tilda Swinton who did a fantastic job of representing the archangel Gabriel. / I hope to have captured some of the power of her performance.

  • This is a print, originally a collagraph, made with foam board, paper cut - / outs…and glue…all put on the board and then shallaced. However after a complete day in the print room all I had left to show was 5 OK prints. (In A1 Size) / The foam board was too soft to print what I wanted. So, there is never a dull print I say…I re-inked the board with Graphic Block Ink and rolled it up with a huge roller in the colour black. Than I placed the board onto the press with the previous prints. So now I have a collagraph/relief print.... the result…was….five amazing prints…that once framed up and under glass are going to look mmmmmmm superb..! If I do say so myself! Yipea! Love that print room….Billy 1836 Views as of 24/11/09

  • Hand coloured collagraph.

  • So, this is a little outside of my usual style. It’s not even a photograph. This image is a scan of a collagraph I printed with Speedball black ink on Lenox 100 paper. Now that I own a scanner, you may see more work like this coming from me.

  • Photograph of a Collograph Print / January 2009 / Printed on Zerkall Etch 250g / Size of original print is 22.5cm x 30cm The plate design was made by using wool, cardboard, netting, bits and pieces of plants from my garden, paper…...sealed with wood glue. Ink was applied by rolling it on with a rubber roller, then wiping back softly with a cloth in places. Printed with an etching press. This was printed up as an edition of 5 original prints. Due to some manual, soft rubbing back of ink, there are very slight variations between each print. The plate has now been destroyed, so no further originals will be printed from it. The unframed originals are available for sale. If you wish to purchase an original, please contact me directly.

  • Collagraph inked up intaglio and relief / Somerset paper

  • Our brief for one of our uni projects was “On and Off” – such a simple way of introducing the simpler side of collagraphs. This was my submission for that project. Printed on Hahnemulle 280gsm – such a soft yet strong paper. It looks better in the flesh (so to speak) and i have had an incredibly positive reaction to this one – makes me enjoy it more and more.

  • Collagraph / Viscosity 3 colours / Printed on BFKRives 280gsm off white Printed this one at least a year ago and didn’t love it so i packed it away and found it recently and like it so much more now. I love to do that – pack away some art i am working on and let time go by before taking it out and reassessing how it’s going. Sometimes, i chuck it out and can’t believe that i thought it was worth keeping and sometimes, like this time, i am pleasantly surprised. Yeh!!
