This is a collaboration I did with Geoff Coleman.. http://www.redbubble.com/people/geoffcoleman thanks geoff…loved this photo!! this piece was probably the one that took me the longest to create ever… the lighting was difficult to blend in with geoff’s photo and each test render took over an hour … there were over 30 test renders, in addition to the 20 odd hours i spent on lighting and surfaces … i was pretty determined to make it work.

First fish Freddy of the original Siamese Fighting Fish clan, blasts off in his bowl. His mission, to avenge the insults levelled at his earth cousins, by grumpy humanoids. Aggressive and down in the mouth, indeed! He would show them, the water in his bowl was adjusting for space flight, shimmering slightly as the shock wave passed and he entered orbit. Soon he would shut down the hyperlink wormhole drive, drift gently into suspended animation, and wait. He clutched his shoalshifter, armed with the latest IRBMs (inter-reef ballistic missiles) and smiled, not that anyone would have noticed. He drifted into a deep sleep, as his bowl iced over and sped towards earth… My offering in a three-way collaboration. ChrisW wrote the story, “Dinner With Fighting Fish” and will add a ref photo. If my image fits Chis’ concept, then master paintograher, Cliff Vestergaard, will weave his magic.

This is a collaborative transatlantic entry between myself and the incredibly talented and totally awesome billyboy in Belgium for RedBubbles Gaia – The Living Planet competition. Now, I’m not a religious person, but I wanted to illustrate by using billyboys Noah’s Ark image that if we dont start taking care of this planet we are living on I truly / believe we will be in for a disaster of biblical proportions. All that is beautiful and wondrous will simply disappear… like so many ephemeral bubbles. We are all interconnected, and we must find our harmony with Gaia, or risk losing it all. Many thanks to billyboy for sharing my vision, and giving so generously of his time, blood, tears and love to bring this vision into glorious life. This is a collaboration between my daughter, Brianna (13), and myself. :) She’s a fantastic photographer for her age..she amazes me much of the time. She showed me this photo that she took, and I begged her to let me work on it. :) (yes…I had to beg! Teenagers..ya know?) Here’s my famous red vinyl chair and red phone! These have been used in quite a few photo shoots now – although, this is the first photo where the two items get in the limelight. This laneway is located near Hosier Lane in Melbourne, adorned with graffiti and stencil art. Getting the phone to the laneway from the carpark at Fed Square was easy. Getting the chair there wasn’t!
