Winter landscape with sunset in fog.

This shot was taken on an overcast and rainy day at Flynn’s Beach in Port Macquarie.. I had to take a shot as the colour of the water was a very nice blue-green.. I was also happy with the way I captured the wave crashing on the rocks offshore.

Snow has freshly fallen and the world is white, pure and clean for a little while.

Old barn with a new look. A BIG Thank-You goes to Kimberly Palmer for giving this old barn a new look. The county wants to tear this barn down. They claim it is an eye-sore… so sad. It has so much character!

The night of March 8 2008. I had gone to try to capture the Northern Light but they lacked luster that night. / While traveling back home I came upon this fog bank and tried to capture it.

Note the extra bands beneath the rainbow. This is a less common occurrence in Rainbows with a long drawn out scientific explanation. This is the only rainbow I have captured with this phenomena.

I took a shot of this old barn on my way home from a day of fantastic picture taking. The ladder leaning against the barn really caught my eye. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

And then the arrival on the Jungfraujoch, in the heart of a glorious glacier world on the very roof of Europe! Superb views extend as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km the longest ice-stream in the Alps, begins on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.

This one is for Simon . / I told him we were having some stormy weather here and he wanted to see some photos. This is the calm between two storms. The white line in the sky is a rainbow. It was taken at about 7:30pm, the sun had just gone down so there wasn’t much light for IR….. but I’m always up for a challenge. Besides, by the time I’d taken off the filter and reset my camera I would have missed it!!

Same day I shot Morning Frost Just as I started to pack up and leave, I see this man crossing the lake on a canoe. I was out of film on my 35 mm, but still had some 120 in my Holga! I love the way it turned out, and think that little plastic camera suited it just fine!

I wandered down a snow-covered country road this morning and found some beautifully covered pine trees and an old split rail fence. The old, dirt back roads harbor some peaceful and serene scenery that one seldom sees…
-
I live in an area where cold fronts pass by on a weekly basis. Often this makes for quite dramatic skies. This shot was taken just before the front arrived at a spot called Rainbow Valley
