Eiger north face with small lake. Swizterland.
Cold winter landscape
A little pond near my home. The water was beginning to freeze, for me this scene shows the immobility we feel between two seasons.I have several shot of that pond,it’s a quiet place,I often go there just to be with myself and listen to the sound of nature.
This is the little foot bridge around the forest I frequent with River. It was shot after the first snow this winter. Yesterday someone wanted to purchase this piece at a local gallery but she wanted me to give her more choices of framing and I finally came up with this version and she (along with her children) love it as her 12-year-old called it “The Magic Ice Bridge”. So I thought perhaps some of you would like it too! :)
I wandered down a snow-covered country road this morning and found some beautifully covered pine trees and an old split rail fence. The old, dirt back roads harbor some peaceful and serene scenery that one seldom sees… /
Schiffahrt Königssee, near Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps, Germany. It is quite close to the border of Austria. The waters of the lake appear to be dark green because of the steep mountains that jut upward from its shores. We drove past the lake on our way back from Salzburg, heading to Munich and stopped to take pictures because it was so stunning. Thanks to ‘adrianney’ for the great title!

. / One cold foggy winters day in beautiful New Zealand The milky colour of the water of Sulphur Bay is caused by particles of sulphur being suspended in the water. This sulphur has been produced by hydrogen sulphide gas rising from the lake. / The smells of Sulphur Bay and Lake Rotorua are from sulphurous gases belched from the depths of the Earth and resemble rotten eggs !! / Steam and gases can be heard bubbling and roaring to the surface through vents and pools :)) WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

sometimes it is as easy as just going for a walk…to look at life everyday…sometimes the same thing and yet it never looks the same…i love that!! part of my driveway….we get the most beautiful snows…and then two days later not a sign of it left… i hope that during this time of year…where emotions run deep and time to just relax and be are not very often..that you all can take a moment and go for a walk… wishing everyone peace, and happiness..and a love that finds the heart to dance. terri

A lonely park bench waiting for company in a cold winter day.
Snow was coming down hard. Five minutes later the sun was out. Taken at Onondaga Park, Syracuse, NY
A very very still night a few weeks ago at Brighton Beach, South Australia. 30 secs at f4.
When I was out in this field shooting the sunrise, I thought to myself, if only everyone could fall in love with nature, there would be no room for war and hatred in the world. As I was running around over the saturated grass, with saturated shoes, I forgot all my troubles as this magical moment happened. We were on our way to the Bunya Mountains National Park. When I returned to the car, reality kicked in, I had saturated shoes, and no spare ones!! It must have looked funny, socks jammed in the rear windows, and the shoes wedged in the roof racks to dry… Scotch Thistle, in a cattle field, just outside Kilcoy, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm, 16:9 crop. Available, and best viewed LARGE!
When I set up for this shot, I had the Eagles song of this title name pop straight into my head. I thought to myself, this is what I will name this shot. I could not hear a thing, there was not even birds chirping, no breeze, it was silence. I think I could easily get addicted to shooting in the early morning! :) Shot on the outskirts of Kilcoy, Queensland, Australia. Shot about 30 minutes after dawn. Canon 50D, 22mm, 16:9 crop. Available, and best viewed LARGE!
