    US$3.42–US$91.20

This weekend my boyfriend took me an hour north of NYC (via train, sweet) to a little village called Cold Spring. It’s right on the skinniest part of the Hudson River, and apparently it was named by George Washington when he took a drink from a fresh-water spring there (1780, though the town didn’t show up until 1818) / / This little patch of wonderfulness is found in front of an old 2-story brownstone called the “Skybaby Building” where there motto is “we are all artists” (i’ll have more pictures soon). / / They also sport a shrine with a large Godzilla toy in it dedicated to a 16 year old boy who died in a car accident, and people in the town donate the toy dinosaurs (and other Godzillas) when they can. Children are invited to play with them as long as they don’t steal them. I didn’t play with them except to pick up the velociraptor, as it looked as though he had experienced a pretty nasty faceplant in front of the brontosaurus. / / I hope to go back soon :) / / / (this is also one of the first pictures i took with my new Canon Digital Rebel EOS XSi (450D). i used a 75-300mm telephoto lens. i highly recommend it!) /
