Morning rainbow, Jokulsarlon, Iceland Iceland / Belgium / Italy / France / Hungary / Spain / Sri Lanka / USA / London / Portraits / Other Jokulsarlon is a glacial lake that meets the sea in Iceland. One of the most beautiful places i have been on our little planet Earth. The tragedy is that this beautiful photo would not be possible without global warming. When in a cafe at a petrol station i saw a postcard of Jokulsarlon. One single large iceberg floating in the centre. As you can see now the lake is full. Note: The size if this work was increased using Photoshop CS2. / Best size being around the 50cm wide.

Taken on Mt.Higginbotham at Mt.Hotham the cloud had just thinned enough toward the sun enough to allow a soft but distinct shadow to be cast by the snowgum onto the fresh snow. ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

This was taken in late Autumn before the start of the official snow season, looking down the top trail at Mt.Baw Baw. This photo is a personal favourite.. The ice-cave sof Antarctica are amazingly beautiful and alluring, yet incredibly dangerous. They shimmer with frigid, crystalline magic, daring you to sail on in to admire the interior decoration, yet the ice crystals could so easily become incisors in the jaws of destruction..

I went to the lake very early in the morning ,it was pretty cold but it was worth it ,it looks like the trees were in fire.Oh! A major early snow storm blanketed the Cascade Mountains. A small lake nearly froze over by winter cold offers a bit of a reflection as Mt. Rainier looms in the background capped by a lenticular cloud cap. A pristine view one can linger on if you can stand the cold.

One must suffer for your art correct? Well this might fit, I headed out this cold December dawn a year ago with temps at -5 and windchill at -30. A bit chilly and I learned that if you take a glove and grab a metal tripod leg your hand will stick at least for a few moments. I hope the image was worth it! The frozen surface of Mud Lake just after dawn one cold winter morning. The long shadows of the tree stumps making eerie lines across the ice and skiff of snow on top.

Taken in the late winter/early spring of 2005 with a Canon A75 at a boardwalk in the town of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Québec, CANADA. The white expanse of snow visible beyond the trees is the frozen snow-covered Lake of Two Mountains. The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. Its antithesis, a gazing ball, / popular in Victorian and modern gardens, is suspended above it. Perhaps / hinting at the subliminal message, the gazing ball mirrors a very real world with tree, water, and sky; / rather than the ideal fantasy that we see before us. / Tiny remnants of petals float in the blue, luminous atmosphere. Desirée has repeated their skeletal / veins in the lower petals of the central flower; so that we know the air is filled with petals pulled from / the larger one. Was this a “He Loves me, he loves me not” scenario—a child’s game with Daisies that / gets replayed in various intonations when we are adults? The video accompanying the piece is a track, “I Belong to You”, from British alternative rock band, / Muse, from their album, The Resistance, released in Europe mid September 2009. / Remembering that the ultimate key to unlock the mystery of Glanville’s art is in the paired music, / it’s of importance that the song and lyrics regard one who travels half the world to tell their muse “I / Belong to You”. / Mid-song, from this British band, are French verses, sung with such emotion to melt the soul. / They are borrowed from Camille Saint-Saëns’ opera, “Samson and Delilah”. / Delilah sings these verses to seduce Samson, in a famous aria in Act II, “Mon coeur s’ouvre ta / voix” (“My heart opens itself to your voice”, or commonly “Softly awakes my heart”). / Ah! réponds à ma tendresse! / Verse-moi, verse-moi l’ivresse! / translated: / Ah! respond to my tenderness! / Fill me with ecstasy! / It’s uncertain, here, whether Desirée is presenting the side of the muse as a reaction to the / overtures, or the perspective of the one presenting overtures of tenderness to their heart’s desire. / It could be either or both, probably determined by the perspective of the viewer. / This is where fine art brings the viewer in as co-artist, to complete the work. Desirée seems to me / to have accomplished that spiritual merger here. / Either way, Desirée has input in the matter. Remember the gazing ball in the garden.
