One of many frozen Willow trees lining the edge of Lake Wanaka, waiting for the dawn’s first light to warm them for a new day. At first I was disappointed not being able to see the lake and the mountains due to the heavy fog on the water. That soon changed!
A crisp Autumn Morning dawns over an alpine lake as a cold mist rises from the still waters and is illuminated by the light of a new Day.
UNTOUCHED PICTURE / I went to the lake very early in the morning ,it was pretty cold but it was worth it ,it looks like the trees were in fire.Oh! NO SATURATION ,this was exactly that color. With saturation we would see some blue tint and we don’t .I could’nt beleive it myself. / Saint-Hippolyte,Quebec,Canada / I often go to that local city parc on foggy morning. / 18 nov 09…10,365 views / PANASONIC FZ20 / 55.6 MM-—-1/60 SEC-—-F 2.8-——ISO 100 / Maxhamish(who’s no longer in RB bought a small frame print 4 months ago. / Weberwanjek,a bubbler, bought a mounted print the 11/09/08
A pastel sunrise on a bitterly cold February morning had frost clinging to the reeds along this Central Washington lake as a cold mist arose with the sun.
This picture was taken at the same place and same time as «Liquid diamonds»but one month later when the lake was beginning to freeze. An early morning with the golden sun rising. The title is the iCandor idea,Thank you.
One must suffer for your art correct? Well this might fit, I headed out this cold December dawn a year ago with temps at -5 and windchill at -30. A bit chilly and I learned that if you take a glove and grab a metal tripod leg your hand will stick at least for a few moments. I hope the image was worth it! The frozen surface of Mud Lake just after dawn one cold winter morning. The long shadows of the tree stumps making eerie lines across the ice and skiff of snow on top.
A HDR image of Lake Dillon, CO from the East side at sunset. It had snowed all the week before and the lake was iced over, reflecting the sunset beautifully.
Bitterly cold day at the Cambridge lake NZ, just moments before the storm ….....

Taken in the late winter/early spring of 2005 with a Canon A75 at a boardwalk in the town of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Québec, CANADA. The white expanse of snow visible beyond the trees is the frozen snow-covered Lake of Two Mountains. Although I could see the arc of the trees when I took the shot and that is what I was aiming to capture, it was an extremely sunny day and I did not anticipate that the circle would be completed with the reflection… / Featured in All That Is Nature, May 2009 / Featured in Bits & Pieces group May 2009 / Featured in # 1 Artists of Redbubble May 2009 / Featured in the Natural color and light group February 2009 / Featured in Everything Winter / and Trees May 2008 groups. / Featured in Seasonal Scapes group October 08. / Featured in Seasonal Scapes group November 08,

featured in Globes,Spheres&Curves 10-28-2009 / featured in SOLO-EXHIBITION 10-19-2009 An exquisite flower opens, in I Belong to You by Desirée Glanville, to reveal a / huge silvery perl– certainly a priceless treasure. Its antithesis, a gazing ball, / popular in Victorian and modern gardens, is suspended above it. Perhaps / hinting at the subliminal message, the gazing ball mirrors a very real world with tree, water, and sky; / rather than the ideal fantasy that we see before us. / Tiny remnants of petals float in the blue, luminous atmosphere. Desirée has repeated their skeletal / veins in the lower petals of the central flower; so that we know the air is filled with petals pulled from / the larger one. Was this a “He Loves me, he loves me not” scenario—a child’s game with Daisies that / gets replayed in various intonations when we are adults? The video accompanying the piece is a track, “I Belong to You”, from British alternative rock band, / Muse, from their album, The Resistance, released in Europe mid September 2009. / Remembering that the ultimate key to unlock the mystery of Glanville’s art is in the paired music, / it’s of importance that the song and lyrics regard one who travels half the world to tell their muse “I / Belong to You”. / Mid-song, from this British band, are French verses, sung with such emotion to melt the soul. / They are borrowed from Camille Saint-Saëns’ opera, “Samson and Delilah”. / Delilah sings these verses to seduce Samson, in a famous aria in Act II, “Mon coeur s’ouvre ta / voix” (“My heart opens itself to your voice”, or commonly “Softly awakes my heart”). / Ah! réponds à ma tendresse! / Verse-moi, verse-moi l’ivresse! / translated: / Ah! respond to my tenderness! / Fill me with ecstasy! / It’s uncertain, here, whether Desirée is presenting the side of the muse as a reaction to the / overtures, or the perspective of the one presenting overtures of tenderness to their heart’s desire. / It could be either or both, probably determined by the perspective of the viewer. / This is where fine art brings the viewer in as co-artist, to complete the work. Desirée seems to me / to have accomplished that spiritual merger here. / Either way, Desirée has input in the matter. Remember the gazing ball in the garden. It never lies. / Despite our fantasy and what we want things to be, there is also reality to deal with. * featured in* SOLO EXHIBITION 19-25 Oct 2009 / featured in I Got the Music in Me 10-12-2009 / featured in Abstract Digital Art&Writing 10-05-2009 / featured in The World as We See it 10-04-2009 When these pillars get pulled down, / It will be you who wears the crown, / And I’ll owe everything to you How much pain has cracked your soul? / How much love could make you whole? / You’re my guiding lightning strike I can’t find the words to say, / But they’re overdue, / I’ve travelled half the world to say, / I belong to you Then she attacks me like a Leo, / When my heart is split like Rio, / But, I assure you my debts are real I can’t find the words to say, / When I’m confused, / I’ve travelled half the world to say, / You are my mu- (Ah! Featured in “Landscape Photography” Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada I knew going that I wanted a shot dramatically different then the standard “Moraine Lake” photo that everyone has. I took this photo in the early spring of this year, before the lake had reached it’s normal levels. Didn’t realize it at the time but I was very lucky to have gotten this shot as I came back 3 days later and the rock had already been completely submerged. Woke up at 2am and drove 2 and half hours in the dark and then slept at the lake for about 30 mins before going out to take pictures. Spent almost 4 hours walking the shores trying different shots. I was about to go home when i spotted this rock, I knew I had finally found the shot I wanted. Cheers

The iconic Liathach rises above Loch Clair, on a beautiful Winter’s day. / Not a perfect reflection, but still a wonderful scene. The dead tree has stood there for as long as I remember, in just the right place for a great composition. / Liathach is one of the Torridon Hills, in the North West of Scotland. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, tripod, polariser, f19, 1/20sec, iso 100, auto wb, single RAW file pseudo HDR in Photomatix, tweaked in PS CS3, and a final layer of Orton, reducing the opacity, to make the colours ‘pop’.
