It was a freezing day while River and I were in the nature park. The trees looked cold but stood tall and strong. This is the same image as the first “Winter Blues” after Gigi told me that I should try a darker color for it. So it qualifies as my third try on this “effect thing” thanks to all the instructions and guidance from my “mentor” on this matter! I guess one could say that I love anything that has to do with nature including the living beings, the woods, the trees, the rivers and streams, and the mountains…. In a way, the trees represent longevity even though my “rational mind” knows they don’t live forever – my “passion” towards the trees is in its “illusion” of the ever lasting life, or perhaps what it always gives back to the earth in living or in death. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

We had a powerful snowstorm on Saturday evening. The visibility was poor and the wind was buffeting the trees. We lost power a few times but we hunkered down in the house and managed to watch a movie. And there was no way I was going out in that. But I opened the back door early in the evening, and this is what I got. / When I downloaded the images I really liked this one.

Introducing, Winter Fun – Hot Chocolate! XD / Am dedicating this to ALL my friends in AU and to Everyone in RB!! =D if i remember correctly, winter’s coming soon, right? Or is it winter already? / i went to Sydney last june, and it’s winter.. i really miss the cool weather there.. don’t miss the frostbites tho.. and i think it’s most fun to have hot chocolate on a cold weather.. actually i think ice cream’s the most fun.. hot chocolate comes second.. lolz!! I’m experimenting using mirrors with my macro work lately… and the other day I found a bunch of sequins along with these tiny stars. So I put them on a mirror with glitter and reflected this sparkly bow in the mirror for the bokeh effect… hahaha.. it’s a little complicated and insane so it’s a little hard to explain lol. Anyway… enjoy!! This one just reminds me of the holidays.. so Happy Holidays too!

There was an ice storm a few weeks ago that covered all the trees in icy rain drops. The next day the pine tree in my backyard looked magical when the sun light it the drops… Shot in tungsten with white balance adjustments in Lightroom. Enjoy!
