  • shot this the other day, having the privledge of hanging out with anthony pierce in the smoky mountains. the temps were cold enough to keep the ice around. when i saw these three rocks surrounded by alittle snow and ice, they reminded me of islands (hey if you were an ant, it would be an island)

  • this was shot on the last day of the year in 2007, was taken in cades cove in the great smoky mountains. it had snowed just alittle to dust everything. the morning was foggy and cold, but oh so beautiful

Le Chaboussant is one River that starts at a source at a trickle it travels through the valley at the bottom of our hamlet it goes through the town (my parents old house had the river running through their garden) and basically circles our whole town. • Frost on an old running shoe sitting on a snow bank. 1 half of the pair I used in garden and I left them outside because they were muddy. Later in the winter when I was shoveling snow I dug this one up and left it on top of the snow. A few days later there was a heavy frost and I when out to take photos of it when I spotted this frosty shoe thought it would made a neat picture. • This was taken off the side of a highway in the middle part of Minnesota….flat, gray and very cold. We were on our way back home from our Thanksgiving trip and I begged my sister to stop when I saw this fence. :) The icy frost was amazing to drive in…miles and miles of it.

  • You sit at work all day thinking about a tree and if it will still be covered in frost when you get home, it was cold enough all day but what if there is a wind that knocks it off. What is the best angle how bright is the light going to be above it how can you get it with out the light. Yes that was my day, Well here it is.The frost was still there from yesterday I might add with even more actually it was snowing and cold and there I am out in the school parking lot snapping away. / It turned out exactly how I imagined it would once I PS’d out the fire hydrant and the staff parking sign that were right smack in front of it. A great day work I think. Nikon D40 sigma 10-20

  • The Sound of the Sun / Embrace of the Everlasting “It makes one all right, / though you hadn’t thought of it, / A sound like the sound of the sky on fire, / like Armageddon, / Whistling and crackling, the explosions of sunlight booming / As the huge mass of gas rages into the emptiness around it. It isn’t a sound you are often aware of, / though the light speeds / To us in seconds, / each dawn leaping easily across a chasm / Of space that swallows the sound of that sphere, / but If you listen closely some morning, when the sun swells Over the horizon and the world is stil / and still asleep, / You might hear it, / a faint noise so far inside your mind / That it must come from somewhere, / from light rushing to darkness, / Energy burning towards entropy, / towards a peaceful solution, / Burning brilliantly, spontaneously, in the middle of nowhere, And you, too, must make a sound that is somewhat like it, Though that, of course, you have no way of hearing at all.” ~ The Sound of the Sun by George Bradley Sun Pillar / Sunset near Chena River Lakes Recreational Park / Wilderness of North Pole Alaska / From my collection: / Emerquinox Spirit of Alaska / Emerquinox is a word I coined when I combined the words Emerge and Equinox. • “Winter River” / Was featured in the group Out of the Blue, December 2009. / Was placed in the Top Ten in “The Frozen Coast” challenge in the group Going Coastal. This river is close to our home and it’s one of my favorite places. It looks so different in every season. I was driving home and I pulled over to shoot this peaceful sight of the river running by the trees and the fields covered with the first snow. The photo is taken in Siuntio, Finland December 2009.

  • Lough Corrib, co. Galway, Ireland, December 24th / It is going to be a gorgeous Christmas with frost and cold. So I wish everyone the most wonderful Christmas, happy days and lots of warmth and friendship. Try to think of the less fortunate for a while and don’t forget the little feathered friends out there in the cold. HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m no expert but I believe this to be a Hoar Frost, it created amazing patterns in the garden just before christmas, unfortunately I did not have the time to go out with my camera for long, this was an old Oak leaf I found backlit!
