  • My fav photo by for such a long time, was Honey Tracks, but more recently was overtaken by an absolutely gorgeous shot called Summit Such a little complex world, almost alien, really captured something in me, more than usual with a photo from Craig. So I thought I would place a bit of myself in there, in a little world where the (TBO) Geishas live. If you’ve seen the movie, The Cell, you’ll know what I’m talking about. The Geisha plays a Biwa ~ 琵琶. A Biwa is a Japanese short necked fretted lute, which is played with a plectrum The Biwa is the chosen instrument of Benten (Benziaten), Goddess of music, eloquence, poetry, and education in Japanese Buddhism. (thanks wiki) I have illustrated Benten before, and plan to post my Goddesses again soon. She is holding a plectrum used for the Biwa, which is known to up to 25+ cm wide. According to popular belief, this was due to its popularity among samurai – the plectrum having to double as a weapon, although its size and construction influences the sound of the instrument as the curved body is often struck percussively with the plectrum during play. (yay wiki again!) /

  • colab between Me vision and Butchart words …........... After i watched a programme called what about me WAM......... featuring a great band called 1 giant leap who went round the world merging all kinds of music ….........a thing that came up in the programme was how we are bombarded with images twenty four seven and that peoples needs are created by fear in advertising your too fat your your need face cream you need phones you need coffee shops etc etc and sadly that is the way the worlds going ….........its an ad mans tool .the Theory was you cannot control people but you can control their needs …...................they found that people in poor countries without nothing seemed happy they managed thereselves better and just got on with it .in the modern society there was still hunger on the streets and people feeling bad about themselves and advertising unreachable goals made people’s lifes seem pointless .................... some of us know better

  • This is a colab with jegustavsen who does some amazing typographic work… check it! “Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no matter how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it you can accomplish miracles.” - Og Mandino

  • Please view large for details :) A Collaboration With the wonderful / kimangeline / The concept and idea came with Kim´s image / Devil Sky / / . / . / / . Inspired by the book of Paolo Coelho / By the River Piedra / I Sat Down and Wept / / . / . And Inspired by / Ane Brun – Rubber & Soul Lyrics In my mind I’m crawling on your floor / Vomiting and defeated / Total absence of grace / Your reluctant voice saying / You decide your own fate but I wear rubber bands round my soul / They keep me from crawling / And these rubber bands round my soul / They keep me from falling In my repeated dreams / You stare at me with an empty gaze / You turn your back on me / And you search for more intriguing days / Loathing this / Controlling this / Let me get a hold of this so I wear rubber bands round my soul / They keep me from crawling / And these rubber bands round my soul / They keep me from falling So then when you are not in my dreams / And not in my mind / But we are at the same place at the same time / Rubber no longer holds / The borders of my soul / . We thank you very much for viewing and commenting our work kimangeline & roy

  • The watchers hold their post .. time has no meaning for them … have no fear .. their eyes search not for you … This is a 3rd generation collaboration with syd baker ... It all started with my fractal work Green Water Pond which syd took and mutated into three landscapes using Bryce and Vue: Greenwater 01 / Greenwater 02 / Greenwater 03 Then syd shared them with me and this is the first of five I’ve derived from them. The other four can be found here: 2. The Owl Tapestry / 3. The Caves of Charish / 4. Memories of Charish / 5: Deep Earth Work done in Gimp and PaintShopPro. Best viewed large. • It’s been almost a lifetime since I’ve last visited the Caves of Charish yet I remember them as easily as yesterday. They are quite known in some circles .. travelers of far flung planets of origin we be … but all drawn to the mysteries of those deep corridors in the planet Charish …oh you say you never heard of them … I didn’t expect you too .. it’s been kept secret more out of necessity than any other purpose .. many who visited have never returned … those who have prefer not to speak of them … and you may wonder why I’m telling you at this time in this place … well my friend, I hear you’re on your way to see the Emotans of Nartan … and I’m sure you will hear of the caves from them .. they have heard all the stories and as you know they feel it’s their duty for are they not the Stotytellers! .... I have little time so I will make this quick .. wish I had more but .. well it is what it is … remember this if nothing else .. when you visit the Caves of Charish and I know you will, do not accept the help of the one who guards the stone … oh my I have no more time to explain .. just remember do not accept his help …... I must fly now take care and see me after you come back ….. if you come back ….. This is a 3rd generation collaboration with syd baker ... It all started with my fractal work Green Water Pond which syd took and mutated into three landscapes using Bryce and Vue: Greenwater 01 / Greenwater 02 / Greenwater 03 Then syd shared them with me and this is the first of five I’ve derived from them. • The Cave of Charish … long hidden … burned into my memory … the dark corridors of stone … alive and yet not alive …. the mystery it holds … the Stone and it’s guardian … yes all burned into my memory ... the Emotans have contacted me .. my friend is long overdue .. they are worried that he has become lost and feel guilty that they have told him the story … I have reassured them that he already knew .. they were grateful … grateful I guess that the guilt lies not within them but me … although at least I had warned him not to accept the help offered .. the Emotans do not know of the Stone Keeper … I did not tell them .. I could not tell them … I hold no hope … my friend should have been back sipping tea and swaping stories with me by now … no hope … what is worse is there was nothing I could do to have changed anything .. if I had not told him the Emotans surely would and at least I was able to warn him …. it is time now for me to put aside these thoughts but before I do I will add his name to the book of memories … good bye my friend … This is a 3rd generation collaboration with syd baker ... • Inspiration is sometimes hard to find so when I met John through another friend here at RB little did I know the muse was ready to kick my tail feathers and get me creating again! (grin) ... I took a look at John’s website and WOW .. do take a look .. definitely worth your time (smile) ... well anyone who’s been watching my work probably knows by now that I have a passion for patterns in math and art for a long time (in fact since I was a kid (grin)) ... so when I say John’s work inspired me I did not mean I wanted to copy how he does his work .. oh no … when I saw his work besides the intrinsic beauty of his images I could see patterns forming in my mind’s eye …. John graciously allowed me to use his website image (up front and center on his home page) Megalong Valley Campfires, Triptych to torture and mutate into this image …ok ok it was after doing it and showing it to him that he saw no problem with claiming it as my own since it bore no resemblance to his work .. (grin) .. I had offered to add info about his work/site etc. since he was my inspiration and the original was his (smile) ... so here it is …. I may at a future time add a mini-story for this image … just uninspired tonight since I only had four hours sleep last night .. yup playing away and lost track of time (grin) .. if I do perhaps I’ll also put it in a journal entry so all interested will know I did (big smile) Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group – Art in Math Extensive work done in Gimp and PaintShopPro. • A collaboration of my poem and photo’s… Heart string snapped You took my words, you broke my heart / You spoiled my secret and replaced my part / You stole my soul and something else / leaving me breathless and without a pulse Now I lie here on the cold floor / waiting for, something more / My body is still as it feels my heart die / And a salty tear escapes my eye You said id be fine, it was you that was sore / Then you kissed me and closed the door / The door is locked, firmly shut / You wrenched it closed like you wrenched my gut So when you find that someone new / Il tell you something you have to do / Tell your angel about your biggest flaw / Of how you like the exit door Tell her how you left me / and warn her how she’ll be / Because the end seems to be the end of life as we know / A terrible pain and a brutal blow So as i pick my heart up off the floor / And tug open that closed door / She’ll be wiping the salty tear from her eye / And feeling her once whole heart die
