It is a reservoir, contained behind the Cluanie dam, constructed by Mitchell Construction and completed in 1957 as part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board’s Glenmoriston project to generate hydroelectricity.

This photo was taken at Loch Leven at Glen Coe. As an experiment I’ve tried being a little artistic in Photoshop (just subtle touches). I’m not sure how well it works so please feel free to leave feedback, good or bad. The Pap of Glencoe (Scottish Gaelic: Sgurr na Cìche) is a mountain on the northern side of Glen Coe, in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies at the western end of the Aonach Eagach ridge, directly above the point where the River Coe enters Loch Leven. Loch Leven (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Lìobhann) is a fresh water loch in Perth and Kinross council area, central Scotland.

Just as I was driving back through Glen Coe, I saw this lovely shaft of light hitting a band of rain. Thirty seconds later I got wet. The mountains in this one are Beinn mhic Chasgaig and Beinn Ceitlein, just along from the turn-off to Glen Etive.

The usual first stop on any journey N up the A82 … is Glen Coe and it doesn’t matter how many times you have stopped before, you stop again as the hills are always changing … be it the weather, the light or the season the Glen never looks the same twice.

This 16:9 shot was taken from Buachaille Etive Mòr. Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Eite Mòr), generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille, is a mountain at the head of Glen Etive in the Highlands of Scotland. Its almost perfect pyramidal form, as seen from the A82 road when travelling towards Glen Coe, makes it one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland Other photos in this series:

Buachaille Etive Beag (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Eite Beag), is a mountain located between Glen Coe and Glen Etive, on the edge of Rannoch Moor in the Scottish Highlands. Viewed from the south in Glen Etive it forms a twin with Buachaille Etive Mòr (the ‘Great Herdsman of Etive’), from which it is separated by a bealach at a height of about 480 metres. The mountain is often known affectionately as the “wee Buachaille”, which is a literal translation of its Gaelic name.

This waterfall is usually much bigger than this but not enough rain at the moment , you can park near this which is approx half way down Glen Coe and take a stroll . / I just love the colours here which i this is reflected by the pinkish granite.

This was taken near Loch Tulla , the deer was waiting to be fed by tourists who fail to read the notice “Do not Feed the Deer” , i suggest that the local council put the notice in different launguages so that all people can understand …...it’s so simple.
