Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. This shot was taken on our local beach at around 7:30am. I like this shot in particular because at this time of morning people all around the world pack into trains, cars, trams, buses etc and here is this girl and her horse reclaiming that little bit of freedom most of us crave.

Maluaka is a place on Maui where there is a comforting daily cloud cover reaching out from the high slopes of Mt. Haleakala and extending toward the island of Kaho’olawe . Without this protective cloud, the scorching equatorial sun would be relentless. I noticed this sunset beginning to happen, and I grabbed my gear and sprinted to the rocky Maluaka coastline just in time to make a nice capture.

The first line of defence is the offshore reefs. / Then next are these offshore rocky islets to take the oomph out of what is left. / This day the most impressive explosions were from the ones not quite big enough to break on the offshore reef ,and therefore they marched into these rocky outcrops still bearing their full force and power that had driven them across a thousand miles of Southern Ocean. / West Point, Marrawah / NW Tasmania.
