Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. © Simone Byrne Photography, 2008. All Rights Reserved. 14th December, 2008 One of three old broken down piers at Clifton Springs on the Bellarine Peninsula. This is probably the least photographed of the three, well that I’ve seen anyway, but I rather like its narrow structure. I have always loved minimalist waterscapes and until now, without the aid of my trusty NDX400 filter, haven’t had a great deal of success, so this was my first real play with the new filter and I’m pretty happy with the result. The title kind of reflects where my life is heading at present (bad, BAD week!). Clifton Springs, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 46mm Exposure: 25 sec, f11, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Hoya CPL, Hoya NDX400 Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.

I like this one the best of the three as I think it has more character, the pelicans seem to agree. No sunset at all, but some lovely light and cloud made up for it. Maluaka is a place on Maui where there is a comforting daily cloud cover reaching out from the high slopes of Mt. Haleakala and extending toward the island of Kaho’olawe . Without this protective cloud, the scorching equatorial sun would be relentless. I noticed this sunset beginning to happen, and I grabbed my gear and sprinted to the rocky Maluaka coastline just in time to make a nice capture.

Land’s End, Norway. The white “dot” in the tidal pool is actually the moon reflection. Much more visible on a large sized print.
Another image from my project on urbanisation of our coastlines and the impact upon the next generation.
This shot was taken on our local beach at around 7:30am. I like this shot in particular because at this time of morning people all around the world pack into trains, cars, trams, buses etc and here is this girl and her horse reclaiming that little bit of freedom most of us crave.

This yellow dory was tied to the wharf for the winter. The boat launch had quite a steep angle to it… you can see the ocean far below, so the dory was secured with these blue ropes.I loved the contrast between the yellow boat and the blue ropes holding it securely. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / laminated print / /

I took this shot in Bateau Bay, which is part of Central Coast New South Wales Australia. Roughly 2 hours above Sydney. I love the glow of sunsets in wet sand and this, broken by the rocks, formed a scene I just had to capture!
Sister shot to my previous upload..somehow, I can’t put up one without the other..I guess the feedback will decide on which one is of more appeal.. / As always, thanks for looking and comments always welcome…cheers, Rob.
