  • This photo was taken years ago when I was shooting with slide film. It was taken on a field trip/photo class with Bryan Peterson. I used a Konica SLR.

  • Just north of Big Sur in Calif. the fog cleared enough that I stopped the car and walked a short distance to see this view.

  • Taken in Mooloolaba this morning. Had to get up at 2am to be there on time but it was rewarding.

  • As 2007 is fading out so are our chances blown away for some decent rain from that low pressure system out at sea. Was a very interesting beach walk anyway. / Happy new Year everyone!

  • The ruins of the Redcliff Radar Station. All the buildings are now crumbling and in ruin. This is the inside shot of the radar station. The stairs used to lead to the second level of the station but now there is just open sky. The station has been abandoned since 1961. Radar operators in the AC&W Squadron tracked the movements of aircraft sighted and passed speed, height and direction information to a Direction Centre (DC) and fighter interceptor squadrons. Fighter aircraft could be airborne in minutes after an alarm was given, and they closed in on unidentified planes by means of direction provided by the radar operators. Another of the Red Cliff functions was furnishing navigational aid to friendly aircraft operating in the area. Their detection of May-Day calls contributed to quick search and rescue efforts. / / More in this series / / / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

  • Had to watch the crashing waves here didn’t drench me. Taken from Shelley’s Point, Jervis Bay, NSW Sony A350 / focal length: 18mm / f/5.6 / 0.8 secs / ISO 100 / Cokin ND8 & ND8 Grad filters

  • Shot at my favorite set of rocks on the beach in the North bay at Kaikoura, New Zealand, lovely soft blue tones as the light dies. This is one of about 20 frames, the others have fuller and more typical wave patterns. I like this one because i got it by accidence, as soon as I saw it i thought of a pipe or mouth blowing smoke. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens, ND 8 soft Grad, tripod with weighted bags.

  • Shot in the North Bay at Kaikoura, 17, 07.09, low tide reflections, seaward Kaikoura ranges to the left, so calm so still you m,ay think, the sea was coming in fast, by the time I’d finished this set I was standing in the water. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Lens, Cokin ND8 soft grad, Raw files with Active D-Lighting on High.

  • Fuji S3 pro / 24-70mm nikkor lens
