After shooting the early light of the morning down at Cape Schanck I thought I’d take a quick shot of the sun light reflecting off the large boulders in this little cove. I love the warm colours and shapes of wet boulders in the sun. If you ever go down to this place when the tied is high and the weather a little on the wild side, the massive waves that come crashing in to this little space throw these boulders around making an awesome rumbling sound. A must see if you live close enough to the Mornington Peninsula.

Elephant Rocks, William Bay National Park, Western Australia (near Denmark) This national park is one of my favourite places on Earth. I was lucky to visit recently with my sister, climbing around the rocks and beaches for hours. Only we had to share it with a few snakes that were making the most of the spring sunshine! This award winning photo was my own personal choice for the place of honor in our home: above the hearth. The photo was taken on a still, misty morning near Port Orford, Oregon, of a man walking his dog on the boulder strewn beach, with the hazy coastal mountains rising up in the background. LARGE VIEW RECOMMENDED 0.5 sec exposure, f13, 10mm Sigma, Canon EOS 450D. ND8 Grad filter. Without blowing my own trumpet and owing a lot to the light and location, this is by far, my most favourite image I have created. A little work in Photoshop, but not much, I hope you like it as much as I do. The Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site is England’s first natural World Heritage Site – it is known as The Jurassic Coast. It covers 95 miles of truly stunning coastline from East Devon to Dorset, with rocks recording 185 million years of the Earth’s history. World Heritage status was achieved because of the site’s unique insight into the Earth Sciences as it clearly depicts a geological ‘walk through time’ spanning the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
