A beautiful summer sunset over the ocean

I call it “No.1” because there are others that fall under the same title. We love the ocean, the beach, the sky, wind, surf, sand, in fair or wild weather. To us, the great beaches of Nova Scotia are magnets that draw us across the country every year to wander on their shores again. This was a windy day in October, on Lawrencetown Beach, just a few miles east of Halifax/Dartmouth. A favorite beach for surfers, this day we had the entire beach all to ourselves. / If you want to do a day hike, the directions are: Go east from Dartmouth on Highway 7 to Ross Road, turn right and follow to the end, then turn left on Highway 207 and follow it to Lawrencetown Beach. The road goes right by the beach, you can’t miss it. Facilities are there and a canteen in season but most people bring their own lunches. If you’re a surfer, there’s a surfing shop at the top of the hill. Enjoy! / Sony DSCF828 camera Ocean Dreaming No.1 featured in “Going Coastal(4 Art Per Day)”

Naples, Italy. The mooring line of Iatlian great factory (actually don’t working) Italsider. Now the access to this place is free to everybody. It juts out in the sea on about 500 metres – it is really long! You feel so little in this huge construction. From this mooring line the view on beautiful Naples islands opens. You can see very close Nisida, in front and more fare there are Procia and Ischia. I was lucky: there was Easter and the weather was terrible, rain and strong wind. So i had a possibility to make photo of this incredible palce without people :)
Big clouds rolling in toward to the coast. Black and White image worked better than colour, seemed to give the clouds more definition.
Photographed from Druidston on Wales’s Pembrokeshire coast between St David’s and Milford Haven, the sun shines a light on the anchored tankers in St Bride’s bay as they await instructions of a new cargo. Canon 10 D / 1/2500th sec at f 11 / 15-30mm lens at 15mm / IS0 100 / I exposed for the extreme highlights caused by the sun and allowed everything else to become almost silhouette-like, especially in the foreground. Processing: / Subtle HDR from same image, one tweaked for mid tones and highlights, the other for shadows.
