walked down towards president to escape the bright lights, as you can see by the darker ocean compared to lights of surfers and out to sea. View more of my storm images / / Storms

  • This was the original storm cell that passed out to sea off Surfers Paradise before returning for Marina Mirage and The Broadwater. It looke impressive standing on the beach with this just hanging slightly off shore.

  • This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! I guess this was the “chance of a shower” bit! Mike is a great guy with lots of wonderful stories from his time spent living all around Australia. • Taken last year on the 29/12/08, not many storms this year(only 1 really) . / Not sure on this one due to the amount of white surrounding the bolt, too much? Send to the scrap heap and wait for the next one? Looking across the Southport Broadwater towards the hi-rises of Main Beach. / 30seconds f5.6. Lens 18mm View more of my storm images / / Storms

  • I love this area of the beach, so diverse, different rock formations, different water patterns, stunning soft light, sunset is just to the left. The light on this trip was so different to our last trip at Easter, this is July, the light evening and night was so even, at least 70% of my images need very little work. Just one ND filter to tone down the sky. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens, ND 8 soft Grad, tripod with weighted bags.

  • Making the most of the School Holidays at the beach in Surfers Paradise while blanketed by the thick layer of dust

  • A beach scene at Kirra on The Gold Coast made surreal by the dust storm 23 Sept 2009

  • Black Cullins, Skye, Hebrides, Scotland. / /
