I was driving along a road in a seaside town at Jervis Bay National Park, just 2.5 hours south of Sydney Australia when I glimpsed this moon through some trees with a pathway of silver light across the water. A lucky moment, in that all the elements were there but tricky in putting them together because it was so dark I couldn’t see anything through the viewfinder and had to keep taking pics, viewing them on the LCD display and then moving the tripod to get the composition I wanted. / It looks to me like the trees on either side of the moon are partners about to dance onto the floor of some enchanted ballroom. This rock in, known as Shiroyama (literally means “white mountain”), is located Arasaki Park (Yokosuka, Japan). Yokosuka is a city in Miura near Hayama, the town where I did my internship. Hayama is renowned for the beach and green hills, and this place was just a drive down. Hayama literally means “leaf mountain” in Japanese, and indeed Hayama is full of green mountains. The coast of Yokosuka, Hayama; along with other cities in Miura are popular for their beaches and offer a rich experience with nature. A lone tree on the hill at Rendelsham, near Millicent – Limestone Coast South Australia. Amazing spreading and uplifting clouds made for a good back drop. Maybe it’s what nature is all about, putting healing oxygen back into our world….. Canon 400D 17-85 with CIR Polarising filter. Converted to black and white in photoshop CS3.

Besides eagles, black cockatoos would have to be my favorite birds, they are so majestic. I’m instantly alert when i hear their call. These 2 were in a large flock of about 20, landing in the trees around where I was photographing the Glasshouse Mountains. Stirred up by the storms passing through, they were more chirpy than usual.
