I took this on a recent trip to Brighton, and got up early so I could catch some cool light, and the dynamics of what was a very rough sea… well… comparitively. Brighton Pier is one of the classic 19th century piers in the UK, amusements on the end, kiss me quick hats for sale and so on… Black and white has given the picture an edge over the colour version….

Icon #2 Point Ormond I am doing a St Kilda/ Elwood icon series. / I wanted to get the Point Ormond beacon. But when I climbed up there last night I realised the base had recently been encased in concrete and it looks horrible. / So I wandered down to the beach and took a shot of the city from Elwood with the beacon in the top right hand corner. It was a breezy, showery spring day and we travelled about 20 miles down the coast to the Port of Fleetwood. When we got back I had a load of images in my head and they all came out as one. Somehow they have managed to surround the town in roundabouts.. so i had to get them in the picture as well. Look girls men may not be able to multi task.. but we can “multi image” ! /

This is a TTV image of the Oregon coast at Cannon Beach. This was taken using my 35mm digital camera through the view finder of my Argus 75 medium format camera. It has been edited in Photoshop to give it that dreamy, surreal feeling.
