Icon #2 Point Ormond I am doing a St Kilda/ Elwood icon series. / I wanted to get the Point Ormond beacon. But when I climbed up there last night I realised the base had recently been encased in concrete and it looks horrible. / So I wandered down to the beach and took a shot of the city from Elwood with the beacon in the top right hand corner. I hope you like it. ICON Series / / / /

The North Narrabeen Rockpool is one of the largest rockpools in the Sydney region. It consists of two pools, one 50m by 18m lap pool, enclosed in a 70m by 40m wading pool. The boardwalk that separates the two pools is a well known icon. / The pool is a fantastic location and is very photogenic. / This image is also available in a high contrast black and white called Into The Darkness. EXIF / Date: 17/09/2008 / Time: 6:06am / Aperture: f/16 / Shutter: 4 seconds / ISO: 200
Waves crashing over the rocks at Narrabeen in Sydney’s northern beaches. The weather was a bit rough this morning and the tides were rising pretty fast, my feet, legs and tripod got drenched while taking this shot, but it is all part of the fun.. EXIF / Date: 17/09/2009 / Time: 6:28am / Aperture: f/22 / Shutter: 3 seconds

Taken after sunset near Lorne, Great Ocean Road, Victoria. I had another version of this image on here which I had uploaded some time ago, but I wasn’t too happy with how I had done it, so I’ve now redone it so there is a bit more drama in the image. This is a pseudo HDR, with only 1 original exposure which has been tone mapped 3 different times, once for the sky, once for the large background rocks, and once for the small foreground rocks. Parts of the original exposure were used as fill in detail for the flowing water. Shot with a Nikon D200, 18-35mm lens at 18mm, 9 sec, F/16, 100 ISO, polarizer. BEST VIEWED LARGER
Went for a trek with Adam Maund through Springbrook hoping to find some frogs on the way back. No frogs but we did find some Trap Door Spiders which was very interesting. / I’ll be back Summer time so I can get a few more shots but from in the water – just a little fresh for swimming now. / Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
